Agree with the summaries so far. Keeper was my MOTM also with some great saves. His kicking is a bit suspect and he's as wide as he is tall but he's quick over 5 metres or so for a big guy. He saved us a few times and had no chance with the goal. The Ayr fans gave him pelters the entire second half too from behind his goal. One comedy moment in the first half when he feigned to clear the ball, dribbled past the Ayr striker but nearly got caught out. He's a character and worth the entrance money alone. No doubt I'll be on here next week slating him............
Central defenders are a mile better than last years already. Not that that says much.
Liked the effort today with everyone putting in a shift. Much younger team (without checking birth certificates) compared to previous seasons. We looked fitter too. All of the starting 11 this year weren't at the Rovers last year!
Lacked a bit up front I thought. Created a few chances in the first half but couldn't get anyone on the end of them.
Ayr dominated the game in all honesty. They were worth their 2-0 but we made them work for it and there's 2 divisions between the teams to be fair.
Fish was in the stand with his good lady. He was named in the starting line up on the Sky Sports app but no idea why he didn't feature.
Signs are encouraging then. It's still a massive gamble and it remains to be seen what the competition is like in L2. I'd settle right now for about 6th place and a few more wins than last season to keep us interested.

Missed the game today (Cricket Buchanan, rite?!!) but will be there on Tuesday. Very encouraging to hear about a gutsy performance from the totally new Rovers' team. Sounds like a good effort versus the full-time team.

Yes, well impressed with the new look Rovers team today. We looked strong in every area. We matched a full time team all the way. ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!!!!

Fish was in the stand with his good lady. He was named in the starting line up on the Sky Sports app but no idea why he didn't feature. That was Bryan Wharton with said WAG. Fish was on the bench. These games are really for fitness etc. The best guage is the first 9 league games.
