"there are those, holding vast experience in business, finance and social enterprise who could potentially form a new Board" rovergrant
we are all eagerly awaiting the details of these captains of industry and society notables.
just a clarification...is it possible that we are talking about weerabwatt, protege, bingo and rovergrant? they are full of opinions. they claim vast knowledge of the game. maybe they've got the millions too?

It strikes me Grant has been working hard behind the scenes on this plot. I cant help but think if he just gave the board the answers he very clearly has then the club would be dreaming of the premier league in a few years time.
Anyway i remembered a post from Grant a couple of weeks ago now that has me concerned. In it at the end he suggested the sale of Cliftonhill (which went down like a lead ballon). At the time of writing that post my guess was he and others so far unnamed were already in contact with their new board (possibly earlier even).
It is clear that Grant and "others" would have new board members ear so to speak and mention of social enterprise experience from certain individuals has me worried.
Grant do you and others think it viable to sell Cliftonhill? I just think it was odd timing and I am off the belief there is always an intention behind all questions no matter how stupid.
The club seems to be more like a game of monoply for you guys and would be nice to get clarity following your bold letter

To the originator (Fob77) of this thread, whoever you are. Interestingly, you have made 3 posts so I suspect that you have a very recent vested interest in undermining the posts made by others that don't fit with either your agenda, or that of those who you appear to support, or are protecting. You have that right of course in our free speech society (as do I and anybody else).
Firstly, I do not know who Bingo or Protege are. I do know who Grant is simply because we both went to Coatbridge High School in the mid 1960's. I doubt whether we have met since. Our only other commonality we seem to have is the concern for ARFC, in particular its future existence.
Secondly, I have made it clear on here that I, and I can speak for Frank Meade on this subject also, have no intention of seeking or taking a place on the BOD of ARFC at any future time. We ran our race together over 10 years and don't have the energy to start over again. Old Father Time has caught up with us and our good friend Lew MacWilliam who gave his all during that time too.
Thirdly, I will exercise my right as a shareholder to vote on any proposals put forward by any other shareholder as I see fit, notwithstanding the fact that doing so might irritate others. If anybody brings forward a viable alternative to the current regime, that might brighten the gloom surrounding Cliftonhill at the moment, I will give it due consideration, as should all other right minded people.
Fourthly, I recently posted a suggestion in response to others referring to a share issue. Not a solitary response as far as I can see.
Fifth and last, as a newcomer you are unlikely to be aware that some 13/14 years ago, when the club was almost certainly heading for the Insolvency Courts, I put forward about £75, 000 to stave off the probable demise of the club and to give Frank the necessary breathing space to put the financial position right. I believe that doing so showed my commitment to the club.
I certainly don't need your sarcasm, in particular since it comes from somebody who is hiding behind an alias. If you wish to be taken seriously unmask yourself man, open the curtains and let us all see your fizzog, unlock the bunker doors and come out into the sunlight. I'm sure that you will feel all the better for it. This paragraph is dedicated to all who openly give their opinions and suffer as a result.

So Robert, how much do you think the club is paying back to the bank for that loan we got, i think it was before the celtic cup game, and did we really need it.

Robert Watt Just for the sake of historical accuracy, Robert, and in case someone else comes along and points this out, we have in fact met since our days at CHS. It was in the Annan Athletic clubhouse bar, before and after the famous play off win in 2011 !
Best regards,

Oh,
Don't remember much of that couple of hours, other than John Gemmell pouring a couple of bottles of beer over my head in the dressing room. The big B has still not paid the drycleaning bill that I sent him.
Those were the days, success on a £50k playing budget, when everybody from Hughie the groundsman (God bless him), Sandra, the pie stall manageress (God help her, she's my missus) right up to Frank Meade were in it together. Not long afterwards the club was spending about £200k on the playing side. Not hard to see where/when the current predicament arose.

if it wasnt for the NHS we would have spent the other 150k that season on medical bills for those who worked so hard, what an achievement it was but it sure took it out of everybody not to mention it has put Paul Martin off management for the rest of his life

And Paul kept us up the next season in the higher league with a budget of £70k. Unfortunately, with a young family Paul thought it time to step aside.
Maybe the following should be the subject of another thread.
Who was the most successful manager in ARFC history, a no brainer in my opinion despite others apparently making a case for themselves.

Clearly it's john brogan
He has managed 10 games with 10 defeates and still his team were applauded off the park by some people in the support
If that's not some sort of success nothing is

Always like to give a new manager time and don't like to criticise too much however have to agree that John's time might be up. As stated it's now 10 competitive games & 10 defeats. Got to be one of the worst starts to a Season by any team in Scottish football. It's obvious from the manager & players side that, even at the lowest level in the SPFL, the step up from the Juniors is a step too much for many of our guys.
