I wish I could be optimistic about this appointment but I'm not. There was probably no other choice for this position but what the Club need at their head is a hard nosed businessman who can push the Club forward not a former schoolteacher with no business acumen. Sorry.

Would agree Laird the only thing the hard nosed business men that have lead and subsequently left the club in a deep financial mire . They have notdone the hard nosed business acumen argument any favours especially the emergency loan that hangs over the place. You can't say income has been limited of late, the club since 2013 has had THREE cup ties with Rangers ( yes three most folk have forgotten about the challeng cup tie at Livingstone) and one against Celtic and yet we are teetering over the financial edge

Haven't a clue who Eddie is or really who Ronnie was. But - and I know it's not easy - someone who can generate revenue for the club must be brought on board. If Eddie can do that then fabulous.

The problem for me is the hard nosed businessmen as you call them who’ve been involved appear to be in for the ego aspect of telling people they do business with during the week, rather than actually applying their skills to the club, probably because they can’t earn money within the club given the shareholder structure.
I’m not really convinced we’ve had too many hard nosed businessmen mind you, the place has been littered with photo copier salesmen...at a time when photocopiers are in decline.
