Sure he and probably Rab will find their way in there at some point. So many have done so much for the club, frequently unsung, you could fill the hall.

That is excellent; but Rovers were elected to the Scottish League in 1903, not 1919. Anyway, brilliant publicity, and great to see Calum Ferguson- hero v QOS in the cup- in among the well-wishers.

Classic Paul Martin "Rovers have had the fancy holiday and are paying for it now" What a legend. He could only dream of having the money that has been squandered over the last few years.

Stewmel is right, Rovers started in the Scottish League in 1903-04 (had 2 points deducted for fielding an unregistered player!) in the Second division.
Depends how you look at what happened 1915-19, the Second division was abandoned for the period of the Great War, the First division continued. Cowdenbeath should have been promoted but were not.
Prior to season 1919-20, at the Scottish League AGM there was a single place available in the First division, Cowdenbeath were proposed for election, as were Rovers. Why Rovers were proposed is unclear. The vote was tied 10-10, the Chairman of the League, Tom Hart of St Mirren, used his casting vote for Rovers.
1919-20 was a remarkable season. Rovers beat League winners Rangers in the semi final after 2 draws but lost the final 3-2 to Kilmarnock, 9th in league. Rovers finished last or in 22nd place in the league. There was no Second division so Rovers stayed in the First.
Above mainly from The Boys From The 'Brig.
