Any thoughts on the game?
1st half, Queens Park were out of the blocks early and looked threatening each attack. Another poor goal to concede for the 1st goal, just a high ball into the box and a header that perhaps the keeper should have saved but a centre back had to go and attack that ball.
2nd goal, no blame attached really defensively, it was good buildup play and a dangerous low ball into the box. A well worked goal.
Half time i think Brian Reid got into them and said liven yourselves up. Because Rovers were far more competitive in the 2nd half and started to put together some moves. The full backs got higher up the pitch in possession to deliver good balls into the box and there was a counter attacking threat too. Obviously Queens Park had chances too and one off the line but if Rovers could have nicked a goal, it could have set up an interesting finish.
Thought Skeoch added some impetus to the team.
In general play, it would be nice to see Rovers have more periods of sustained possession to be creative. First half again, there were too many long balls forward. It was much better to see 2nd half some more progressive pass and move football.
But you have to hold your hands up at times, beaten by the better team on the day and move on.
PLAYER(S) OF THE MATCH: Ecrepont did his defensive work with a minimum of fuss and had good delivery from out wide.
ONE TO FORGET: Lewis Wilson. Was all over the place today defensively and in possession, even under no pressure he was giving balls away. Must do better.
