Will be much tougher than Saturday’s game. If we can kerp a clean sheet again who knows what could happen

2-1 Falkirk at present. Max Wright put Rovers ahead but the Bairns have come back

At least they've fixed the jerky picture at half time.

5-1 it finished. Binnie pulled off a decent save from a spot kick.

Falkirk looked more of a Championship side than Ayr last night. I thought we competed well and it seemed to turn on the chance we had to go 2-0 up , then Falkirk equalised moments later. Their full time fitness probably told in the end with the 2 late goals - but no disgrace- rather a further learning experience for the season ahead

We can put winning the League Cup back till next season after that result.
Apart from the full time, part time issue, Falkirk did not play Saturday, so went into the match fresh which has to be an advantage against a part time squad.
Pity about the chance at 0-1 that did not go in.

Pity about the chance at 0-1 that did not go in. I take it all back. One or two ifs buts and maybes coming up. Edinburgh City to beat Falkirk tonight or beat them after a draw on the penalty shoot out. City have no more games to play so they finish on 3 or 4 points. We need Hamilton to beat Ayr (that is not going according to plan, at the minute). Ayr and Falkirk draw on Saturday. We gub Hamilton on Saturday. Rovers end up with 7 points, and with results from about 30 other matches going our way, we qualify as one of the three best 2nd placed teams. Our name is on the League Cup for sure.

Falkirk players have tested positive for COVID so their match v Edinburgh City tonight is off. That means City catch us on points and a 3-0 awarded scoreline puts them above us.
Assuming their match at Ayr in Saturday is also off they’ll end up bottom of the group.

Beat Hamilton, we go onto 7 points, finish 2nd. Then we hope that we are among the three best 2nd placed teams.

Slightly off topic but think the organisers really missed a trick for this seasons tournament. We have now had 6 games called off through COVID and it could cost us a couple of grand if we lose to Hamilton.
Instead of goal difference it should have been head to head if you finish on the same points…. If Edinburgh finish above us by less than the 3 goals they were gifted then it’s just wrong IMO.
