Right guys, looking to see if anyone knows who the old junior teams from Monklands were and where they played,
Teams like Airdriehill, Glenboig who I know became Mount Ellon, I have also seen Teams named Whifflett Emerald and Gartsherrie Athletic?
Were there anymore?

At one stage, Airdriehill were a senior side, they may have become a junior side.

I’m sure my father spoke about a Coatbridge junior team called St Patrick’s in the late 40s but I don’t see them on the list.

My father in law, William Docherty, played for St Patricks, he got a cap for Junior Scotland, definately a Coabridge side.

Chris, as one football geek to another, thank you, fascinating spreadsheet. A few snippets below
There are an incredible number of teams, especially in the 1880s through to the 1920s
St Patrick's named as Coatbridge St Patricks 1938-1954.
Coatbridge Albion and Coatbridge Rovers merged to form Albion Rovers, never seen them named as Coatbridge Albion and Coatbridge Rovers before.
There are 26 teams called Coatbridge ....something...
A senior team called Drumpellier, 1874-88, for a short time after they played as Coatbridge.
Albion Rovers 1882-
A senior team called Gartsherrie, 1887-88, and were based in Coatbridge.
A senior team called Whifflet Shamrock 1888-95.
A senior team called Gaelic, 1894-96,operating out of Coatdyke played at Cliftonhill, match secretary was c/o the Horseshoe Bar.
I was aware of Drumpellier, Gartsherrie (came across a snippet about them only the other day), Whifflet Shamrock, Gaelic, but there are others listed as senior that I have never heard of before.
Time to close the spreadsheet.

Not according to The Boys from the Brig, Glencairn beat AR 6-0.
AR did play Drumpellier a few times, AR won these matches.

I wonder if Drumpellier football team was an off shoot of the cricket team - quite a few football teams stemmed from cricket clubs.

I asked Drumpellier Cricket Club what they knew about Drumpellier football team, and they said that they knew nothing. There is a connection, their early seasons, according to the SFA handbooks, were played out of Drumpellier cricket club.
Bucky is right, a lot of football clubs were off shoots of cricket clubs, something for the cricketers to do through the winter and keep fit. Off the top of my head, a few examples are Kilmarnock, St Johnstone, St Mirren, East Stirlingshire.
Glencairn and Alpha became Motherwell, don't know about the steel works bit.
