A great little local charity, their head office is on Academy Street in the centre of town.

Ahhh Academy Street.. Anyone remember Thistle Sports from up there ?
Pretty sure you got a 10% discount if you had a Rovers season ticket.
I bought a Rovers sports bag from there for starting the 'big school'. Obviously it was thrown down the 'groggers' by some Neds on my 1st week of being there.
Still used it. Bullies never win kids. In s2 I was lined up against one of them in Boxing as we were the same height.
I smacked him on the nose about 30 seconds in. Blood everywhere. Fight stopped.
Rovers =1 Bully=0

I remember it, I bought myself & my dad scarves in it. Mine was £2 and my dad’s fancier one was £2.50.

I also remember seeing a getaway from a bank robbery on Academy St. My Mum had just met me at school (Gartsherrie Academy) and we were walking down the hill when a guy carrying bags of coins ran out of the Royal Bank.
I remember 2p coins spilling from them and being disappointed that my mum wouldn’t let me pick any up. The guy didn’t even have a getaway car!

I love this story, Tommy. I suffered at school from bullying as I was very slim & still hate the word "skinny" ; wish now I'd had more guts to stand up to them. Good to read this, though.

Bullies always get their well deserved karma in the end.
