Happy birthday to the Rovers! Sometime this week 140 years ago a meeting was held to found Albion Rovers and the rest, as they say, is history. It’s a Miracle on Main Street that we are still here having come through thin and thinner but here we still are. The fact the Rovers are celebrating their 140th anniversary is down to the determination and support of fans over all these years. It’s great to see this important milestone being marked by both the Supporters and Community Trusts.

What were the names at the meeting?
Great achievement, I can think of two recent teams who are no more...

Hope we get some positive media coverage in the next few days to recognise our 140 years. Even Tam Cowan may use his wit in his Thursday Daily Record Column to highlight this?

It is great that todays mascots are 3 generations of a Rovers family, showing the importance of the fans to the club down the years.

Thanks to Hugh, Stephen and Marc Cairney for being the ‘mascots’ at yesterday’s match and representing the fans in marking the club’s 140th anniversary.
