Darren very rarely played Gemmell so I don't think he would just let him go if he didn't want to,but would agree it's getting his wages of the books,as for Josh well that is a big blow, but we just have to get on with it

I thought young Archibald looked as if he could be a decent addition from what I saw of him on Saturday so let's not get into a panic just yet, have faith in the boys and the management.

Just to clarify John was not the highest earner at the club. The club getting rid of him is not going to free up much of a wage. He came back to rovers, taking a massive pay cut. He wanted to try and win something with the club and that's what he done.

Part of the deal?......
Bulgarian winger Spas Georgiev has today signed for Albion Rovers on-loan from Livingston until the end of the season.
The winger, who has enjoyed spells with Slavia Sofia, Montana and Dobrudzha Dobrich, signed for Livingston last summer and comes to Cliftonhill after making only 13 first team appearances this season for the Lions.

Disappointed by this but the discussion on this thread is so negative it really serves no purpose . Just hope that this was financially a good move for the club. If it was, we can move forward . Also the first player to emerge from our own new development system should give us some hope . A lot of people going on about wheels falling off etc are over reacting as ever Seem to love wallowing in a mire of negativity.

The club could help itself of course by nailing any rumour of financial difficulty by simply publishing up to date accounts. It's been a good season so far and losing 2 key players doesn't automatically make Darren Young a crap manager. I think we need 2 wins to ensure we stay up which doesn't sound much and starts tonight against Stranraer - a game we should be looking to win.

I can us flirting with relegation now. All the best to Josh and John, both will be welcomed back anytime.Very disappointed with this, having just watched the highlights from Saturday. Need I say anymore about the goalkeeper?..... Best not.

Players come and go, that is the way of football, the disappointing thing for me is the lack of inward movement (ok one Livi reserve) to a squad (if you could call it that) which is already threadbare. Where are the goals going to come from ? - Ally Love, hopefully. Barrowman has been for me a total disappointment, perhaps he should have been shipped out during the `window` as well.

Doom and misery: what a shocking two seasons we have had. I was peeved when Ray Franchetti, Hugh Hill and Duncan Shields left, but I got over it. If players want to leave, there is sod all you can do about it. Move on.

I guess it's just concern that we are on the slip. You need moaning fans to keep the board on its toes.

Whats going on at all? Some answers are required. Parry, McKenzie, Phillips, Mullen, the Beast.........the list goes on. We are being short changed here. Nothing of note coming IN the revolving door, all one way traffic. I fear we could just go into freefall now. First managerial vacancy in this league and Young and Stark will go as well. I have a very disappointed 8 year old on his way to school as though he has just fell out with his best friend. He told me this morning he doesn't want to go back. The decisions being made behind the scenes are leaving a legacy all right !!!! Very disappointing. Good luck to Josh and the Beast in their respective moves.

I totally get the frustration, but on the other hand the bottom line is that without the attendences were always gonna sell more than we spend.

What a farce. Hope the games off tonight as I am totally disillusioned. Sack the board!
