Saturday 17th February LL v Gretna 2008 home 3pm k-o Admission Adults £11, Concessions (OAPs, Students, People not in work, 14-17 year old) £6, Under 14 £3, Carers free Season tickets valid - voucher 11 Pay at the gate cash or card
On Saturday we welcome Gretna 2008 FC, not to be confused with Gretna FC who were a very different prospect back in the day. Our visitors lie 17th or 2nd bottom if you prefer with a miserly 8 points from 26 games played, their only wins coming against Civil Service Strollers and Broomhill both of which happened at Raydale Park. Their other 2 points were also gained at home so they have a 100% losing record away from home in the LL. Of course Rovers had a comfortable win back in August at Raydale 4-0.
After the midweek routing of Linlithgow Rose we sit 10th in the table with 34 points from 22 games played. Barring some cricket scores a win shall not see Rovers climb any places in the league but dropping points could result in a slip back down a place or two.
I'm going to go out on a limb and predict a 5-0 win for Rovers. Thus far this season Gretna have conceded 99 league goals so Rovers shall surely have the honour of hitting their century!

When we played them earlier in the season and made an effort in the 2nd half we could have run up a cricket score.
If the boys give it 100% we could easily win this 8-0.

Steady on, chaps. We’re playing well but let’s not get carried away. Based on recent form/results, RFC should have horsed Ross County 10-0. Didn’t happen, rarely does. I’ll settle for a continuation of our recent great attitude and play and another win, by whatever margin.

Albion Rovers 3, Gretna 0. Essential that the team doesn't get complacent, but they will know that I'm sure. Keep the excellent run going at our beautiful, unrivalled home of Cliftonhill.

I’ll take any scoreline as long as we get the 3 points, think we need to steady on with the scoreline, we thought we were going to thrash Edinburgh Uni and look what happened, Gretna have improved since we beat them 4-0 even tho they may be 2nd bottom and have that massive goal difference, they have improved quite a bit

A win with another solid performance is what’s required, that’ll help keep the confidence level high
However they were rank rotten down there and doesn’t look as if they have improved much so I would expect us to be pretty confident at full time

Gretna have slowly improved as the season has gone on. Rovers on a 2024 unbeaten run. What on earth could go wrong?

They used to hit us for 6 in a past life , but this Gretna are very much poorer not just in the financial sense but also on the playing field. They have improved over the season but we need to keep a clean sheet and use this game to improve our goals for ratio - we are one of the underachiever teams in this league on that. Albion Rovers 3 Gretna 0 will be ok anything further would be a bonus.

Our recent performances should give the players plenty of confidence going into this game and barring any mishaps I think we can win this one 4 or 5 nil.

I'll be happy with a last minute 1-0 win. What I really want though is for the team to continue in the same vein that they have recently. I think Gretna will give us a game on Saturday and make it hard.. I certainly dont expect a walkover, but I would love it to happen.

Strange stuff from the bookies for this match, quite a difference!
McBookie 1/6 for a Rovers win, 7/1 draw and 6/1 for a Gretna win.
William Hill 1/14 for a Rovers win, 8/1 draw and 12/1 for a Gretna win
