Shotts - The Land That Time Forgot. Good luck to the lad
Mrs. Welshrover comes from Shotts. First time I went there, would have been the 80's, there was still a bar that didn't admit women, had no women's loo etc.

Worked in the Airdrie Savings Bank branch in Shotts. You were advised to always carry a shovel for the snow, that applied throughout the year. The main thing I remember about the customers, they were nice enough, was that they never spoke quietly, always seemed to be shouting.
To be fair to Shotts, visiting there to see the in-laws was how I took a likening for Rovers.
Each time we went up to Shotts, whilst Mrs. Welshrover was going around the relatives I would take in a different Scottish game.
After experiencing the "delights" of Celtic, Rangers, Airdrie, Kilmarnock, Clyde etc I eventually turned up at Coatbridge and formed an immediate bond with the club. No idea why, just my sort of club.
