I understand that Admin (I presume!) has removed a post by Robert Watt. Why? Having seen the post before it was removed I could see nothing offensive or derogatory in it. What we are now seeing is double standards. It seems it is acceptable to Admin for me to be told to `crawl back under your stone`....or Jordan Campbell to be described as a `coward`. Both comments constitute personal abuse. There have been other comments, particularly directed at Robert Watt because he entered into discussions with Paul Reilly. Bigseamus got banned for his posts...I found them funny...obviously someone got upset.....hmmm. Not for nothing was this message board described as `Pravda` in the past....are we back to those days ? It seems that if you don`t `toe the party line` you get binned. I spoke to two supporters (and shareholders) last Sunday they are becoming afraid to comment on the board...or even `like` some posts as they fear being castigated for `supporting` the wrong people.

Very poor form if true.
It takes a lot for a poster to remove anything by themselves, so can only assume it was delete to shut down the conversation.

Wasn`t removed by Robert...
Post was along these lines "Ownership of ARFC, whether by current shareholders or by fan ownership, has been the subject of much debate for many years.
Over 10 years ago, during the short period during which I had the chairmanship, I was approached by one well known high profile supporter regarding the issue of resurrecting the 'dead' shares and/or having a share issue to enable the supporters to 'invest' in their club. We had a long discussion at the stadium and I then broached the same subject with at least two other well respected supporters who I thought might gather the willing together and get the ball rolling, so to speak.
On each occasion, I asked those persons to go away and establish a list of names of people who were willing to contribute financially, and how much they could, or were willing to invest. I can say categorically that nobody ever came back to me with any evidence of supporters being interested in making a financial commitment.
On the basis of that, I believe that there is not a widely held desire to contribute sufficient hard earned cash to make a tangible difference to the fortunes of ARFC. I may be wrong, of course. Any fans inclined to participate in fan ownership better have very deep pockets if they intend making a real go of it.
As I have alluded to before, Clyde FC has about 400 'owners' contributing just short of £24,000 per annum. That group of people started off with a common purpose, but over time the division and bitterness has been of epic proportions, resulting in a downward spiral. Over the past 6 or 7 years, the chairmanship has been passed around regularly, as each person has become disillusioned due to the aggression shown towards them by what some of them once classed as friends.
Given the aggression that is shown on this forum to those who speak their mind, and/or don't fall into line with certain factions, it is not hard to envision a similar scenario among the fans who get ownership of ARFC.
Beware what you wish for!!!!!!!!
I would suggest that anybody who still has a hankering to investigate the possibilities of bringing the dormant shares back to life should make representation to the following department;
GOOD LUCK WITH THAT. I wonder if this will be removed as well.....Admin owes all who post here an explanation.

Quite frankly, I was astounded to receive phone calls and emails this morning from a number of Rovers people, asking whether I had removed the post. I certainly hadn't done so and didn't see any reason why I should have, as I was only giving what is now posted above by Grant Cullen.
For the benefit of those who didn't see the original, I also mentioned that the accounts being presented tonight showed expenditure of £333k, and that type of funding is what will be required (at least), going forward, if ARFC is to get back to the SPFL.
I also supplied the details of the department referred to in the penultimate paragraph i.e. the King's and Lord Treasurer's Remembrancer. Internet search KLTR.
I presume that somebody influenced the administrator(s), whoever they may be. If so, democracy appears to be dead where Albion Rovers Football Club is concerned. SAD

Robert
The point I can’t understand is why you were fine doing business with Paul Reilly but are so strongly against a fans’ group having a significant block of shares.

Fair question.....but we still have no response from Admin as to why he took down Robert`s original post but has allowed others making disparaging remarks about individuals (self included) to remain.

Ronnie, where did you get the idea that I am so strongly against fans having a significant block of shares. Can you read my mind?
My position is that I would support fan ownership, and I have stated on this forum months ago that I would contribute. The caveat is that it must be properly funded, and not just some harebrained obsession being peddled by a few misguided individuals who believe that the current shareholders are the devil in disguise.
My earlier post, which was deleted for some unknown reason, gave a link to a body that deals in assets where the owner has 'gone unknown'. It also gave the annual cost of running a club like ARFC, just in case there are any out there who believe it would be easy for the fans to take the club on and take it forward.
You'll remember our meeting in the manager's room at Cliftonhill, when I asked you to compile a list of those interested in funding the purchase of shares. You never came back to me, so I presumed that the issue was a dead duck, but maybe it is just taking time to complete your survey!
As far as my connection with Paul Reilly was/is concerned, I was the only person who made a concerted effort to get to the bottom of what he was offering the club, as the club was clearly on its knees and heading for the Lowland League at that point in time. That effort resulted in me becoming an outcast in the eyes of people who have crystal balls and knew that he was a charlatan. For those who questioned what he was all about, and whether there was/is any substance to him, keep your eyes peeled to see where he pops up next. You could be shocked!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Max, if you take time to read the post again you will see that I clearly referred to a conversation with Ronnie Boyd. I then raised the subject with two other longstanding ARFC supporters.
Your father was not involved with the club at that point in time, and Ronnie was not a member of the board when I spoke with him.
Ronnie was the chairman of the Supporter's Trust, and was subsequently appointed to the board as the ST representative in November 2013.
Your father was appointed to the board by John Devlin in July 2014. At no time did your father and I discuss shares.

Max, my position regarding fan ownership is clear, depending on the level of funding available to those individuals involved, I would consider putting a few shillings towards that goal.
However, unless the fans can come up with sufficient funds, in the first place to acquire a controlling or significant shareholding, and then to facilitate a change in the fortunes of the football side of the club, it appears to me as just a lot of hot air. That is my opinion, which I'm sure you will agree I'm entitled to.
The elephant in the room will always be getting shareholders to sell their shares. Unfortunately, as was witnessed when Paul Reilly made his offer, most of the shareholders are reluctant to part with them, no matter the figures involved.
Your father appears only recently to have become actively involved in this project. If he has now bought into this enterprise and is in a financial position to make it work, then good luck to him and his associates. It will be interesting to see how it progresses.

Robert, I asked you a question and you haven’t answered it. Don’t dance around it, if you are going to have an opinion stand on it. Furthermore, my father is prepared to purchase all the shares for the fans group and secondly put a large amount directly into the club, to help get them back into the league. Call that hairbrained if you will.
