Just a quick update on a number of Rovers in the Community activities which will be starting again soon as the summer holiday period comes to an end:
Our popular Walking Football sessions restart on Monday 11 August at the 4G pitch at St Andrew’s HS at 7 pm and will run until the end of October. The one- hour sessions cost £4 and are a great way to keep playing the beautiful game. A good number of Rovers stalwarts are among the group and it would be great to see a few more join us.
Our Wednesday Walkers group will start again on Wednesday 20 August at 11 am and leaves each week from Dunbeth Bowling Club pavilion. After the walk round the park, we have a blether over tea/coffee and rolls provided by a local business. Depending on the length of the chat we are usually finished by 12.30!
A highlight of this summer for us has been the return of the kids’ football camps to Reigart Stadium. We had a very successful week at the start of July with over 25 kids a day having a great time making new friends and improving their football skills. We are running a further week of kids’ camps at the stadium from Monday 4 August until Friday 8 August. The camp runs from 10 to 3 each day and the cost is £12 per day or £55 for the full week paid in advance.
The Community trust is a registered charity with an association with Albion Rovers Football Club. Our main aims are to benefit the community of the Coatbridge area by running activities that promote health and challenge social issues. Over the last few years Rovers in the Community have given the football club in excess of £18000, mainly for the hire of the stadium to host our events.
To book a place or for further information on any of the above events please contact us by emailing albionroverstrust@gmail.com
