The SFA / Scottish Football Museum have developed a Football Memories initiative in conjunction with Scottish football clubs. 30 of the 42 clubs now have such a group and we are looking at establishing one at the Rovers. It would be open to all fans who would like to meet up once a month to chat about memories of their club and Scottish football in general. All fans with memories of the 40s/50s/60s/70s.
To get it off the ground it is recommended that there should be between 4 and 6 volunteer facilitators/helpers.
There is a meeting this Friday,3 March, at 2.15 in the stadium for anyone interested in getting such a group off the ground at the Rovers.

After a successful initial meeting it was decided to go ahead and form a Football Memories group at the Rovers: the 31st club in Scotland to have one .
If you are interesting in finding out more or would like to be a helper at the Rovers Football Memories group , there is a meeting at 10.30 this Friday 24 March at the stadium.
We will be joined by Michael White who is the national organiser of this initiative who will give advice on getting a group off the ground.
All welcome.

Indeed , a brilliant idea, we need to preserve the memories of all connected with `Vers - including the oldies. I have a friend who is Oral Historian at the Imperial War Mueseum and that`s his job, recording the memories of as many veterans as possible .

Just a wee reminder that the memories group is on this Friday 21 June at 1.30. This week in the boardroom at the stadium. It is going really well and new members always welcome. One idea the group has been discussing is to come up with a greatest ever Rovers team. To date we have got as far as goalkeeper with Jim Brown being chosen as our best ever goalie with Derek Gaston as the sub keeper. Now we move on to the hard job of deciding on our best ever back 4.
