well what can i say, were was the so called loyal fans last night for the players presentation what a discrace i counted 10 fans attended to give the players a great send off as there will not be one player playing for Albion Rovers next season, also thought the attendance at yesterdays game was shocking to get more fans traveling from Livingston who had nothing but pride to play for, the future for our team is looking duller by the week big changes at board level to run the club as a football club and get people involved who have a football and buisness back ground at this time we dont have any, the previous managment teams deserved a lot mor from fans and directors.
all i hope for next season is more fans attending home games to give the club income that they will need to carry our team forward

what im saying is if we want to see our club moving forward we need a better attendance at home games to support the managment team to put a good team on the park

Graham, I agree the turn out last night was disappointing. Even although the club has had success the last few seasons the fact remains that the people of Coatbridge by and large are just not interested. I have followed ARFC for over 50 years - the last 25 albeit from a distance and no matter what initiatives various BODs have come up with the response has always been the same disappointing - to say the least. The Boardroom has had a revolving door in recent years after the period of stability when Frank Meade and Robert Watt were around. In recent times we have seen business men (including a former top footballer) John Devlin,Michael Gillooly, Terry Gillooly, Michael Savage, Steve Kirk and others come along, join the board then disappear. No doubt they all had their reasons. This left the club in the hands of several guys who are at least Rovers through and through having supported the club boy and man. Yes, I agree the current BOD is too small and does seem short on business experience - and I say that with all due respect to Ronnie, Eddie etc. But I ask the question - Where are you going to get more people involved with a `football and business background`? I am sure the current Directors would love to hear from them. As for next season ? Bigger crowds ? - it simply won`t happen.

grant i understand what you are saying, what i disagree with is the mention of the previous board Pat, Terry, Kirk ect what a lot of fans dont understand what these guys put into Albion Rovers i.e first thing was the voids in the ground which had to be all fire boarded which did cost thousands, the new stand, the new fourth offical room, new hot water systems for the showers i could go on and on how much money do u think this all cost, so for the previous board to be brought up at every oppertunity i think it is very harsh

great job mate, i forgot to mention the work carried out on the park last year as well which cost thousands were i think that the playing surface at cliftonhill has been the best playing surface for a number of years i think it should be hats of to the groundman for keeping it as good as he could for what he has at his disposal as this park has been used for every event possible to bring revenue in to the club

If you look at most other clubs Directors have been around for a while bringing stability to their club, not to mention their bankers approval - at the end of the day the club`s bankers decide the level of overdraft they will allow the club to operate at, and yes, we get those on this message board from time to time asking what happened to money from recent cup ties - well - apart from the player budget, you have answered a big part of that question. However, it is only a matter of months since the current Chairman lettered all shareholders asking for donations / loans to see the club through until the end of the season, so it was obvious there was something wrong with the financial structure. We now have a BOD consisting of, I understand four individuals, hopefully over the summer some other `business and footballing` people will come forward to assist.

Grant the money that was brought in by previous board was well spent on upgrades on the ground were they had no choice or the gate was getting locked, what i can say is Terry Gillooly is still involed at the club to deal with the important stuff at the ground he still attends meetings and does all audits for H&S and doesnt take a wage from the club so hats of to Terry for saving the club money

Well if its ground upgrade, why dont they start focusing on the other side of the ground instead of the main stand, the jackson street end, that sides a mess.

Yes, Graham, I am aware that Terry G is still involved and does a lot of good, essential work. Long may it continue.
It goes without saying that any toilets used by paying customers should be of an acceptable standard but spending money on the north terracing or the Coatbridge end of the ground would just be a waste of money - money which, frankly, we just haven`t got.

yip agree for the area behind to goal i have heard the club are looking at putting a 9 aside grass pitch in this area so that the park can be left for first team games, were the community can use this area for diffrent events, as for the toilets i believe that they are getting looked at in the closed season what we need is more volenteers with diffrent skills to put a few hours work into helping club improve the ground think what we need to remember is Cliftonhill becomes 100 years old in a few years

2019! Cliftonhill must be preserved at all costs. If I win the lottery, it will be done!
