Andy28 I have been going for over forty years and have seen free tickets for schools, holiday camps, free tickets for adults if they bring a kid, pay what you want, pay what you want season tickets, reduced gate prices, free Lees macaroon bars, a bar in the ground, promotion winning teams......to name a few. Still standing amongst the same faces watching them get older at every game. What do YOU suggest mate? 100% agree with this. The only thing we haven't tried is rounding up the good folk of Coatbridge with machine guns. Can we arrange this at next meeting but edit it out the minutes?? SURELY we can attract more fans.Every football fan in coatbridge has a soft spot for rovers it seems so why cant we drag them through the gates?

Give us a successful team to go and watch!
We did- won the championship and stayed up the following season in the highest position that most of us can remember. And yet our attendances went down . Go figure.

Go figure. Having a successful team to watch means a lot to us but bugger all to the rest of the brig. All these years of cut price tickets and pay what you can,,,,maybe its time the board (as a whole with the fans) took the club to the people.Try a new approach

The response from the people of Coatbridge has been abysmal.

I wanna know why we aren't doing this now - we could get the drummer to start a band ! ! ! come on feel the noise !

As long as the band isn't Kasule. Don't want to scare potential fans away.

Still standing amongst the same faces watching them get older at every game. What do YOU suggest mate? I never proclaimed to have all the answers but as you said the same faces just get older. Have you seen the youngsters at half time? they all look fed up and bored.Maybe some half time entertainment, schools vs other schools penalty shootouts or something,,could also try get an adult version maybe workplaces could compete. Maybe try having slightly better conditions starting with the toilets (which i dont imagine would cost an arm and a leg). What about some music at half time,or some music when rovers score a goal or music for the team to run out to,maybe help towards generating a better match atmosphere. Kids these days dont know who albion rovers are. They only know the superstars they see on sky sports. What about making a promotional video, introducing rovers players, showing clips of our recent games against celtic, rangers, kilmarnock, motherwell, the title win and taking it to the schools? What about giving schools tours of the stadium. Maybe all crap ideas but im sure if people came up with a few suggestions then we might get the odd good one that will get a few more bodies through the gates Like this! The only bit I don't agree with is...."Maybe all Crap ideas"!

What we should do is proper research (somehow) with regards to what worked for other clubs and what does not work for clubs ,invest what ever money is available in the things that worked for other clubs............any suggestion what works?

Every football fan in coatbridge has a soft spot for rovers
Strangely, only when the Rovers get more success than normal or are playing against said football fans' usual bête noire.

Coatbridge Town Band were at home games certainly well into the 60s. They marched up from the Fountain playing, played at half time and played all the way back from Cliftonhill to the Fountain after the game. Does Coatbridge have a Town Band nowadays ?
