Looking at the league and the teams these are games the rovers should be looking to take points from this season, I'll go for a 2.1 away victory and re-discover the pre season form.

Would take a draw. Had a feeling we'd have a poor league start. A point gets us up and running.

I'll take a 2-2 draw
And hopefully a decrease in their prices for food (highly unlikely though)

This is going to be a tight league with full time teams set to dominate. We really should be looking to beat teams like QP tough though it will be at Hampden

Gus to jump up and down like a madman, wave his arms around like he's pretending to be a windmill, steppimg out of the technical area onto the pitch and kicking all the water bottles over before half time.

I know it is a fait accompli, but please tell me this is how it transpired! Great result, well done to everyone!

Superb result. Team could have easy buckled with early goal conceeded, good character and fighting spirit. Conceeded 5 last week, scored 5 this week. Will be one of those up and down seasons I reckon. Bring it on.

So, make no mistake; QP were dire. And my god were they dire. If they don't finish bottom of this league (based on that one performance to be fair) then God help whoever does.
As for the Rovers? We were awesome! 5-2 did not flatter us one bit. Just a few points to make I suppose:
Conor Shields - way too good for this level of football. Still young obviously but with the right coaching and development he could step up a level at least. Bowman - good shot stopper, commands his box, blameless at the goals (first was a wicked deflection). Fish - on this form he'll step up a level. Hate myself for saying this but he's like a Scoot Brown type of player from a few years ago in his new role further forward. Some great touches, leads by example, nearly scored with a diving header, works his socks off from box to box! Jase - yeah my kids sponsor him but he's some player. Strong in the tackle, carries a goal threat, organises the defence well. Distribution is good and he's not even fully match fit. Trouten - won the stone wall penalty like a pro and then made the keeper look like a right mug as he rolled the penalty past him. Holmer - still not fully fit but reliable and dependable on the middle of the park. Will be a key player for us this season.
There's a number of reasons I believe that we are a better team this season: 1. We have better players. 2. We carry a goal threat from multiple sources. 3. We hold a much higher defensive line and have central defenders who can make a tackle and do the simple things well. That eases the pressure on the defence. 4. We have a manager with a recognised game plan at the start, who can make changes that change the game and is giving youth a chance. 5. Technically, the players look better. 6. Still early days but the players look fitter and sharper.
One win doesn't make a season but that was impressive today. Just a shame the electronic scoreboards weren't working so I could take a picture of the score.
Massive game next week!

Sensational!! And to beat the snooty arrogant keelies on their dump of a ground is brilliant. WOW!! Can't wait for the bloody cricket season to be over so as I can watch this demolition machine that be the all-action Rovers!!
