Big mistake not bringing in an experienced `keeper when Bowman dropped out. I think this is one we can cut the manager a bit of slack on. One of the hardest positions to fill half way through a season is the goalkeeper- and trying to get an experienced one at that is near impossible unless we have ££££££.

If Forfar can beat Raith as they did last Tuesday then why can't Rovers beat Ayr on paper it's difficult but impossible no chance. Not brave enough to predict a score though

On current form of both teams you'd have to expect a gubbing for us.
However reckon we'll up our game and hold them to a 1-1 draw😉😉

Good luck to young Potts, inexperienced, but what I have seen of him, he looks OK and could have a future, probably, going to busy tonight.

Look at that, we could of got a point tonight, fighting back from 2 goals down, but to let Ayr get a third goal, Rovers still can't hold on when they no these games a important.

Very cruel: Rovers desperately unlucky. A great battling performance, but one mistake and that was it. Unedifying spectacle of full-time glamour boys desperately hanging on at the end. Keep battling like that and we at least have a chance. Massive improvement on Saturday.

Totally agree. Great performance against a full time squad. If we play with this level of desire in the next few matches wecwill get the results we need. Baur was great. Fisher sublime. Reid was outstanding and gave us solidity in defence. Perry was solid too. Pity we might lose Reid kn Saturday due to his 6th booking tonight. Also, really pissed off with the tall fair haired Ayr Utd fan who grabbed our flagpole and charged down the stairs wih it. I overheard their fans say he's pinched quite a few. I know what I would do with the flagpole thief if we catch him. Time for Ayr United FC to compensate us the £30 for a new pole.

Either that was our last breath tonight or it was the spark that will kick the rest of our season into action. I hope and think it’s the latter and if the fight that most of the boys showed tonight (and their disappointment at the end) is anything to go by I’d say we can avoid the drop.

Forgot to add anotger rant about the dreadful mismanagement of the pie shop. The girls were magnificent but we knew hundreds of Ayr fans would be heading up without having dinner. So they were hungry. Pies sold out Bovril sold out Crisps sold out Shop closed midway through 2nd half.
Lots of very grumpy tummy rumblings from the Ayr end. Seriously we need to plan ahead. We could have made another £1,000 tonight if we had more staff and enough stock. Rant over.

More criminal defending. Ayr were gubbing us at 0-0 and their goals were coming. The first 2 we lost were poor again.
However at 2-1 in the second half and especially at 2-2 we had Ayr rattled a bit. Their 3rd had a bit of fortune about it. Long range effort hit well enough and seemed to move a bit. Keeper did ok to save it but it fell kindly to the Ayr guy to score.
Decent effort tonight. Played as if they had nothing to lose which is fair enough against Ayr.

A great second half performance with Ayr looking rattled unfortunately the goals we lost were absolutely terrible. Goalie has got to do better with that third goal.

Should have said actually - what about Trouten's goal tonight? Free kick, head flicked into the box by Vitoria. Keeper comes out and Trouts deftly chips the ball over him before rounding him to tap the ball into the net. If Messi had scored that we'd be raving about it!
Definitely a contender for goal of the season from an absolute stick on to be player of the season. Good luck to Trouts wherever he plies his trade next year.

Perhaps he might stay here. Will depend if we stay up I suppose. Two wins in the next two games essential, but it can be done if we perform as well as we did last night.
