I'm my own man Bucky as you are and I think you know that. I do agree with you that the club either adapt or die. It's a different dynamic now in L2 since Rovers were last in the league in 2015. Relegation to the the Lowland league is a real threat to all clubs so the priority must be to give the manager as much wiggle room as possible , that will mean increasing revenue and that means spreading the net wider. That will take a certain type of person. As for the youth set up. Because the league is cut throat now in doesn't lend itself to blooding youths . Was certainly the case for us last season , a relegation dogfight isn't a great way to introducing young players. We've had our fingers burnt previously when our youth system was scrapped when Jimmy Lindsay was there. From memory we seemed to get all the cast offs from Raith Rovers at that time. Again it's a wider issue for other clubs as they in tirn feed off of the cast offs from higher up the leagues. I'm not sure who are scouts are thats if we have any, Robert Watt was good at plucking some raw talent from other ranks including amatuer and dare I say it Juniors. Why would you think we have scouts, they would need to be employed by the club, and remember the club dont operate any team below reserves. However I do believe the reserve manager watches boys games. That's where I guess he saw the two players that were not playing for u19 and signed them for reserves. And also the captain who I believe is now a reserve player

And also the captain who I believe is now a reserve player The reserve manager watches A LOT of football games including most of the Under 19’s matches. It was in the U19’s games where he saw the players who were then called up to the reserves. So he saw a lot of them, including in training and in games for the reserves. So when those players were released from the 19’s they then asked Livi if they could train with the reserves. Not sure why that’s confusing you? Last season’s captain Nick Mullen has indeed been asked to sign for the reserves - proof again that the pathway is alive and well and working pretty well.

You think that’s right? Sign for U19s - asked to be released - sign for the team above? That’s why the pathway is not working. What sort of pathway does that promote? Don’t get a game for 19s - asked to be released then sign for the Reserves. I’ve spoken to a lot of managers on that Fact. Nick Mullen (the Captain) the only that’s been selected that is ready. He also is still U19s at the moment. A players I’ve had the pleasure of coaching for 3yrs..

I don’t believe that both players got released in order to sign for the reserves Josh, that’s not the way it worked. My understanding is that Nick is the only one at the moment that has been offered a contract for next year.

No other club in the world would that happen. If Simon at U17s had a player who asked to be released by the club, u certainly wouldn’t see me undermining him and snapping the boy up.

So these were players that weren’t getting a game for you and asked to be released to get games. I guess we could have lost them to Airdrie, surely that would have been worse? If a player at U17 who you had knowledge of because he’d trained with you and played some games for you, wasn’t getting a game and was released then asked if he could join you at your training you would turn him away? 🤔

U must be in the 1% of people that thinks that’s acceptable. So we will just leave it at that. I don’t expect u to come on here and disagree with one of Livi’s decision

Full time: EK 2-1 Albion Rovers
Goalscorer: Nicholas Mullen
Gutted for the lads tonight and you’ll see on my posts over the last seasons that I have never blamed a ref for a defeat but tonight was an absolute joke! Never seen anything like it. Blatant cheating.

Yep, unlucky Josh. Both EK sides seem to be the teams to beat at this level so no disgrace in 2-1. Think that'll be their 2nd final this year?
Shame it doesn't feel like it's been the happiest few final weeks for you at the Rovers, Josh. All your hard work will be appreciated by your team and that's what matters and hopefully what you'll remember.
All the best at Clyde. Good facilities at Broadwood with the all weather facilities and the fitness complex. I'm sure you'll make the most of them.

That’s the first time we’ve been beaten by that EK this year. Infact first we’ve been beating in 2 years by them. Yes great facilities. Looking forward to getting started

EKFC GOLD 4-0 Albion Rovers
- No GK (injured in warm up) - Only 1 sub - Numerous players out
Well done to Nick Mullen and Joe Dickson for offering to go in goals.
Crazy old game if we could finish our own chances could have been 4-4
Last game next weekend as Kirky Rob Roy - who won the scottish cup yesterday. Last meeting between the two Albion won 1-0.
