Hilarious. Too much to spray on a bed sheet and hang over the wall? Rovers aren’t moving with the times because of fans like you ye the boys put a banner up saying they want the board out Because there lack of ambition and that’s why we’re in this mess of a rebrand witch I don’t want myself you have to look at it from your rovers tinted glasses if we can attract people like this surly there are people out there want to keep rovers brand and want to put into the club and it’s community look at spartins there a well ran club with facilities youth teams est we should be doing the same

I’f they dropped the name change and told the fans how they would find the club and a clear journey to get behind then Im sure it would receive some backing . I’m all for investment and believe if we did get investment from people with rovers with rovers best interests at heart then I have no doubt we would get back to league 2 quicker.

This thread is a distraction. As soon as someone comes up with the idea of renaming Albion Rovers F.C then the whole concept loses all credibility and cannot be taken seriously.
The last thing we need is to be side tracked with nonsense like this. It detracts from our primary purpose of getting everyone with Rovers at heart pulling together to escape the Lowland League asap.
The fact that this non story has been seized upon so quickly reflects the sad state of the dying embers of the once proud tradition of Scottish football journalism.

Please do not sign up for updates from Project Phoenix. All that does is give them the chance to say how many people are following them and obviously agreeing with them. Starve them of opportunity.

This guy Reilly has been promoting this theory of taking over the Rovers for more than ten years, rebranding it as a club that would appeal to the Irish diaspora of Coatbridge and the surrounding area. Is that what Coatbridge needs FFS. Given that he talks of substantial investment waiting, it appears strange to me that he has not yet taken his ideas forward by making direct contact with any shareholders who have significant numbers of shares, with a view to buying their shares and taking control by that means. He talks of the option of building another stadium with multiple facilities. Good luck to him with that, as in my time there was multiple options put to the local council, involving the redevelopment of Cliftonhill or relocating to other sites within Coatbridge. On each occasion various obstacles were put in the way of progress and the opportunities were lost. The posts on this forum indicate that the BOD responded to his recent approach by what they thought would be the general attitude of the support. They should be commended for that. People should be wary of buying into what "Johnny Come Lately" characters bring to the table. All that glitters is not gold, just ask Glenboig and Baillieston Juniors, neither of which is now in existence. Bellshill Juniors have been nomads since 1997, they had grand plans and moved out of Brandon Park in their centenary year, and after multiple relocations and ground shares, now play at what is essentially a public park surrounded by green wire fences, behind the housing estate that was once Bellshill Maternity.

This ‘ proposal’ is complete nonsense and is a distraction from the serious work of building the club back up from the current low point. It’s essential that the BOD counter this rubbish by stating they totally reject this move which would alter the ethos and culture of our club.

The 'Advertiser' is a poisonous rag: utter disgrace that they are running this fake news guff on the front page. Do not buy that piece of bog roll.

Some light reading for those interested in a rebrand using the name Celtic!
Search the Internet under Celtic Nation FC. In particular, check out Wikipedia and the BBC interview with the high roller who was going to work wonders.
Interestingly, the project was an instant success, but fell flat on its face after 3 years, and the club folded. The novelty of supporting a club that was not actually Celtic FC soon lost its appeal, and the busloads who initially travelled up and down the M74 stopped attending.
I am not suggesting that there is any connection with anybody involved in the ARFC story, just pointing out the history (and if you know the history, dada dada dada)!
