Disastrous start - 0-4 & we're solid on the bottom. Couldn't get as I've sprained my left foot but following on BBC Scottish Football. In the end, we made 8 attempts to their 9 but only 2 on target and they score 4, so we need to sharpen up front pronto. Won't look forward to D7's report on the game. Can't find a greetin' emoticon on this site.... maybe just as well!

Play like that every week, and we will end up in the lowlands league.

Take your pick from the following. Diabolical, gash, mince, rank rotten, p*sh or anything else of a similar nature. Nae excuses acceptable.

No more pish from people “wait until we play teams of our standard in the league”. That time was today and failed emphatically. Sunday league stuff.

Thought we where absolutely shocking. I understand that we won’t have the greatest players with the best quality, but our work ethic was a disgrace. I also found John brogan subs very strange taking Fish off and Kearney when I felt they where the better than the rest

If we had 8 attempts on goal I didn't see them. Scoreline was fair and I fully expect them to be bottom 2 or 3, they're not great, so really don't know where that puts us. I aired some measured concern when new manager was appointed given the size of the job ahead and I desperately want to be proved wrong but given start to season and having watched that today I'm struggling to hold on to any optimism.

Bottom line is that the players you buy will get you to where you want to be. As someone on the message board said previously -if buying guys from the juniors was the answer, many teams would have done it long ago.Knowing our financial situation -I understand that that club surviving comes first,,but if you pay peanuts -you get monkeys. The stats don't lie,and tell you that these guys are out of their depth.

Problem is we dont have a goal scorer, and notice when we go a goal down we fight a little till another goal goes in and we give up, john Brogan needs to get that sort out, you dont give up till the final whistle, and next week against peterhead, i hate to think what a big score line would be.

We made Edinburgh City( in their natty white strips) look like Real Madrid ! In Blair Henderson they have a striker who knows how to score and be creative - a bit like Alan Trouten ! we lack some one like that and it was painfully obvious today that we are off the mark in so many ways. Next week with Rory McAllister's Peterhead will be daunting - could be damage limitation at times this season.

Jesus Christ. That was horrendous. I don't even know where to start. Rovers are absolutely terrible, with few exceptions. I'll deal with the exceptions first shall I? Fish is our best player by a mile but he doesn't look fit. Wharton is decent enough and has an impressive beard. (Decent for this level that is; his beard is world class btw.) Keeper might be ok-ish, it's hard to say, but cannot kick his own @rse.
I'm not joking, that is it. The rest might as well go home now as they are absolute gash. I don't really want to go into specifics after 1 game and partly because I haven't a clue who half the players are. But they are poor. I'd give them pass marks for effort as I do think they tried but it's clear they can't string 2 passes together and lack the basics. I know that's harsh and I'm not Pele myself but that is a fair assessment based on what I've seen.
We started brightly enough for the first few minutes until the penalty. Couldn't see from the stand side whether it hit the players hand or not but it happened right in front of where Prof and his pals were standing so he may have a view. The ref initially gave a corner but changed his mind after speaking to his assistant. Regardless, it seemed harsh as the players were only a foot or so apart. It was downhill from there. By the time the second goal went in it really looked like a case of how many. The heads definitely went down and it was a relief to hear the final whistle.
One thing that surprises me is how easily we are pushed off the ball. Defensively we're solid enough and can clear our lines effectively most of the time; and win balls in the air. But unfortunately, we're just cr@p beyond that in a defensive capacity. Oh, and slow. And going forward we were out-muscled time after time. Hard to believe these guys were in the juniors where it's a tough gig. But then they weren't world beaters there either. I think I'm beginning to see where this is going wrong.........
We did have a few chances. Fish blazed one over the bar in the first half and someone hit the bar with a decent effort in the second. But we don't look like scoring.
It's all route 1 as well. As I said before, I don't mind that. But only where you've got a target man and you can find him with a pass. We don't have a target man and can't make a pass - with stunning consistency too I may add.
I agree with Charles - we made EC look decent but they are ordinary.
One comedy moment midway through the second half - number 12 puts in a kind of half-hearted challenge. Someone from the crowd shouts "number 12, you shat it there!" To which number 12 turns round and replies: "Did ah f*ck!" Highlight of the day that was for me.
I said before this is a gamble. I have to say I was wrong. It's a disaster waiting to happen. Regardless of whether or not this is game 1, it's a disaster waiting to happen.
It is going to be a helluva long season based on today's 'showing' ffs. Anyone want a season ticket? One careful owner, unused, brand new without tags...........

Total shambles. one of the worst displays ive seen and ive seen a few but that is right up there, Edinburgh City were not great but didnt have to be, it looked like a training match for them at some points. hope im wrong but on todays eveidence that side wont compete in division 2 the quality just isnt there.GK couldnt be blamed for goals he had no chance. it will be lack of firepower or quality firepiower that will ultimately cost us i fear.

Today we looked as though we don't have the quality to compete even at the bottom end of this league. I don't remember ever singling out an individual player for criticism begore, but Gracie looked to me as though he just couldn't be bothered. The rest tried hard for the most part but there was no quality or plan.

Glad I missed today's disaster as I was at a good old Townhead wedding. Things are pretty grim and I agree with some of the comments here about certain players not looking interested. Same as last week in Greenock and at Stennie. Get it sorted gaffer. Poor report card so early in the season. So disappointed.
