Over the last 2 years I have written chairman's remarks for the match programme and since the last home game the intention is to publish my comments on the official club website shortly after the game.
In my last comments , I looked at the themes that were current on the forum and tried to address these. As I start to think about the comments for this Saturday's match, I am happy to take any questions people may have: through this thread, on a personal message on the forum or even by popping into to see me at the stadium for a chat this Wednesday pm from 12 to 6 or Thursday from 9.30 to 4.30. I'll do my best in the programme notes to address any points raised although some areas will remain business for board meetings and/or an AGM. The deadline for my programme notes is Wednesday evening so please get any points to me by lunchtime Wednesday.

The signing of the keeper PJ is making a difference. Any outfield additions in the offing, Ronnie?

Ronnie,
• Do you think it is acceptable that we have yet to win a competitive fixture this season? • Has the appointment of John Brogan been a mistake? • Are you prepared to relieve John of his duties if the situation doesn’t markedly improve over the coming weeks? • Do you accept that relegation to the Lowland League could be potentially disastrous for the club and is there a plan B in place to make sure that everything possible is done to avert this?
Jordie.

1. What did John Brogan offer in his interview that swayed you to appoint him over the other candidates? And, can you confirm to us who the other candidates for the job were please. 2. Why did you allow the management to sign so many below average players from the lowest level of junior football? 3. Why has there been very little or no response from the club in relation to the current situation we find ourselves in of being rooted to the bottom of the league and looking like it’s where we will be the whole season?

All good questions that cover our concerns. Would also ask if a certain poster who wants people banned from the ground is part of the club heirarchy. If so is his ott behaviour appropriate?

I would suggest your initial official channel stance was a professional one.
Coming into an independent fans forum trying to answer emotionally charge questions may not be a great idea. Admirable but risky and not seen this done before, who knows might be the way forward for the big clubs also.
Not an easy job and you can see your trying to appease the fans at a difficult time. But you will be dammed if you do and if you don't!

The keeper is very good; that's what. Why are you questioning that? Were you at the match on Saturday? Doubt it...

I think it's fairly obvious mistakes have been made, predominantly with the manager appointment and the standard of player brought into the club.
So the questions must be ;
1) Is there a plan B? 2) Realistically, if ARFC go down this season will they go under entirely? 3) Is there going to be action taken in January in regards to new players? 4) How much longer do we need to wait until the Manager is relieved of his duties?

Is the keeper making a difference? Yes, he has been outstanding and saved us from two more defeats. That, however, is just papering over the cracks and he is a loan not a signing. He goes back to his parent club and we are back to square one. Bad decisions compounded by clueless management team.

Got to agree Bingo, a very brave decision from the Chairman as he opens himself up to the fans, however I don't think any chairman is going to answer questions as to the status of the team manager on an open forum, that would be very shoddy and I would expect that the board, or any board for that matter, would do any of that stuff behind closed doors. I notice JB made an offer for anyone to attend training to see what went on and perhaps the chance to maybe ask a question of him there, can I ask did anyone take up his offer?

I’m sorry, but what exactly is ‘brave’ about this decision? A Chairman, by nature, is accountable to the club’s shareholders and fans. I don’t see what’s so valiant? Maybe I’m missing something here… I wouldn’t expect Ronnie to answer my questions on this forum, but would expect the points to be addressed fully and comprehensively in due course/if the situation continues to deteriorate. I’m genuinely concerned that many are underestimating the gravity of our current predicament and that really worries me. But hey! Who am I to question the Chairman? Every decision that’s been made will benefit the great club to no limits. All is well at Cliftonhill. Let’s celebrate the stadium’s anniversary. Let’s clap sub-standards performers from the field of play. We should all accept Brogan is the right man for the job. Our players need time to gel before we mount our challenge for the league. The keeper will singlehandedly secure our status in the division. Wharton’s beard? That’s the most majestic thing I’ve seen. Our new strip is lovely, isn’t it? Performances matter more than points and the start to our season fills me with great hope and optimism.

There is only one question that should be addressed and that is what is the Chairman and BOD view on our current predicament of 1 point and no wins from our opening fixtures ?.
On the 1st September the Chairman wrote that everyone connected with the Club was deeply worried at our extremely poor start to the season.
Since then we have played 3 games an amassed one solitary point.
Is the Chairman confident that JB can get us out of this position and how long will he give that theory to be right or to be proved wrong.
Can everyone also keep in mind that Motherwell can recall their goalkeeper at anytime so that particular sticking plaster is not going to last.

I was invited by a friend to attend Linlithgow Rose v Fort William Scottish Cup tie on Saturday. Linlithgow were of a standard that could match any division 1 side , whilst poor old Fort William were our present standard. The danger of a play off against the likes of Spartans/East Kilbride/ Cove Rangers is something that the club cannot ignore as we are not in a position to be challenging these teams. We are about to enter October and the first quarter almost over and time is not on our side. We need the board to use whatever powers/experience they can muster to lift the club from our present predicament. If there are options to scan the country and draft in experienced players then we need to pursue it. This may be a non starter due to the transfer embargo but need to explore all options for the club. May be like trying to square a circle just now but drastic times require drastic measures.
