Can we please stop with the Jamie McKenzie stuff ? We have already taken far too many backwards steps as it is.

Jamie being local and an ex-pro mightbe a good shout. Think he was at Forth last year when they got relegated, but has had a bright start this year with new jumior club Gartcairn. Not sure if its what we need, but did take a few yound lads on loan off JB

We need to get the right man for the job - and the fans need to be realistic as the legacy of the previous manager remains. Talk of player managers is fine but to go through the Darren Young plus an experienced assistant will cost plenty of cash.

if we are intent on going for an ex player can it please be Peter Houston or is he happy to be assistant at Morton and turn down a nothing to lose opportunity to make his name as the man who saved the Rovers

I guess it will all depend upon who applies by today`s closing date...last time round the list of applicatnts was decidedly underwhelming

Seems to be a campaign on social media at the moment to get Martin Lauchlan as the favourite

I was listening to the Open Goal podcast the other night, Si Ferry, Mark Guidi and Andy Barrowman discussing either Arsene Wenger or Terry Venebales taking the Rovers job. By all accounts Tel likes a night out and may be attracted to Coatbridge for the nightlife.

Today's closing date, if that is in fact the case, is a very short timescale since JB's resignation. I hope this is not an indication that there is going to be a rushed appointment, as it could be argued that this is the most important decision in the history of ARFC. Taking time to let all potential candidates have the time to apply, and then making the correct appointment having given the matter due diligence, is absolutely essential.
The club is teetering on the edge of a precipice at this moment and one wrong move will see it disappear from the SPFL into the Lowland League, possibly for ever. A time for cool heads and informed assessment to avoid the type of debacle that resulted from the JB appointment. Those making this decision have a lot on their shoulders and will go down in history for all the wrong reasons if they get it badly wrong.
Let's hope they get it right!

From the Club`s website, Robert
`Following the resignation of John Brogan, Albion Rovers Football Club invites applications for the post of first team manager from suitably qualified coaches. CVs should be sent to secretary@albionroversfc.com by 5pm on Friday 26 October 2018.`

You mean we wont have a new manager for the match tomorrow? (Tongue firmly implanted in my cheek)
I'll bet all credible candidates had their applications in by 5pm on Monday! Hopefully a prompt if unrushed decision making process will follow and we have the right person on board fairly soon.

Do you think Houston would leave a full time job with decent wages to work with Brogans Juniors? I’m hoping that’s a wind up

By all accounts Tel likes a night out and may be attracted to Coatbridge for the nightlife. I'm liking your thinking here. I am sure Tel would be more than persuaded to go to Owen's, the Vulcan or St. Andrew's Bar to see the locals, get his messages from the Asda, go to the Platinum nightclub for the nightlife, go to Tommy Tango's for sweets or visit the Prof in Whifflet for tea and biscuits. Not necessarily in that order. If any potential candidate at the interview stage asks the Board what's in it for me then just mention the above. What's not to love
