Farewell then John. It was short but certainly not sweet.
Who would we like to see in post next? All suggestions welcome. From the ridiculous to the sublime.
I'll start the ball rolling with a left field suggestion that will no doubt make the BOD sit up and take notice given their previous appointment.
On the basis that this individual read the game today far better than than any of the current management staff and the fact there really isn't anyone who could do any worse, I'm going to go for.........................
Mrs charlestheoptimist.
Good luck ma'am and I look forward to seeing you in your monogrammed tracky next week against QP.

I will think on this tomorrow after a bottle of jamiesons cause the way i feel right now i'd appoint wee sadie from the checkouts at asda and put betty from the fruit n veg at centre half. Can't do much worse than they muppets did today. Glad hes away but i feel we're doomed.

The prof for me as he does a great job as bus convener, i am sure he could adapt to managing the team. I'm going to lie down now.

Sorry to hear John has resigned don`t think he`s had any luck in the games that I have saw so far this season, I would go for Barry Ferguson or Billy Stark or both surely they could do a job and bring in decent players with their connections etc.

Billy Stark is a good shout but I can't see him giving up up his current job.
Ferguson was an absolute disaster at Clyde. Alienated good and popular players and did nothing to improve the squad.
As for John not having any luck I'm not even going to comment on that.

We need a manager that knows his stuff in the game, and contacts, thats if its loan players in January, we need someone to stabilize our team so we don't get beat every saturday, thats starting at the back and in midfield, getting the team stronger in these departmentsand working on the rest, even if we get 2 wins or a few Draws before Christmas then build on until the end of the season.

The question is who in earth is going to make anything out of this group of players? And do we prepare NOW to gear up a team for the relegation play off?

The question is who in earth is going to make anything out of this group of players? And do we prepare NOW to gear up a team for the relegation play off? Yes, 100%. Whoever comes in has to be a miracle worker to turn this round.

It wont be easy but we don't need a miracle, having seen Cowdenbeath, Stirling Albion and Berwick they'd do well to climb the table. We need only finish up in 9th place although 2 or 3 places above that would be nice. If we get the right man* he may be able to bring in a few new players as this doesn't necessarily cost.
No doubt there'll be loads of applicants for the job and hopefully some of the calibre we need.
* we may get some female applicants and I'm sure they'd be considered but frankly it's unlikely.

My choice would be Stephen Aitken . Has the experience of Stranraer and Dumbarton. Stranraer would have been similar to ourselves- tight budget /attendances similar etc. He knows how to graft in these set ups. However, after his stint at Dumbarton he may be after a challenge higher up. The club should think along these lines as we need someone of his calibre in charge.
