This is Gala's first visit to Cliftonhill since December 1985 when Rovers demolished them 8-1 in the Scottish Cup, this was before they merged and added Rovers to their name. More recently we drew 0-0 at Netherdale in November. GFR sit one place above Rovers in the league table with a single point separating the teams despite Rovers having played 6 games fewer so a win would guarantee a climb of at least one place.

I just want to see us really have a go at them. They conceded 7 a few weeks back, let's actually attack and try and score goals.

We were 8-0 up when they scored a late consolation. Victor Kasule scored a couple but was prominent throughout with various assists. Pretty baltic conditions if I remember - had to scrape the car windscreen for frost at the end of the game. The refs at that time must have been more battle hardened for trickier pitches.

Just to advise that, at this stage, there is no doubt this game will go ahead.
The squad trained on the pitch last night and it held up well - fair to say frost/snow causes us more problems than rain!

Total control from start to finish. Gala were plucky but pretty terrible if truth be told. Still, you can only beat what’s in front of you as they say.
Joseph worked hard to get his hat trick but it wasn’t to be today. His two goals were good though. Reidy was man of the match for me.
A win is a win and let’s hope it’s the start of better things. The season’s a write off but hey it’s an afternoon oot.

Good win, good performance all round, only negative is payton. Slow all over the park. Not a big problem today but easily found out in the weeks to come
