Aye, Buckie Thistle appeared to think they were O.K. including having meetings with the SFA and SPFL the day before they were refused permission.
Self preservation by certain clubs and individuals has been evident in recent times. They see East Stirlingshire, Cowdenbeath, Berwick Rangers, Brechin City and ARFC languishing in the 5th tier and are shitting themselves in case it happens to them down the line.
The Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) is owned by the 42 member clubs. Each club holds a share in the league, granting them voting rights on matters such as rule changes and contracts. Enough said, effectively a cartel that can change rules to suit themselves, ignoring to some extent the HL and LL clubs at any given time.

In the other playoff to determine who will enter the lowland league next season Broxburn Athletic will face Dalbeattie Star This was after Creetown drew 1-1 at home to Star when they needed a win to overtake them at the top.

I see Caley Braves have raised $750,000 through crowdfunding in the States.
With that kind of capital, they must be going for it next season.

Fair play to them, willing to be different and will appeal to people as a result (albeit cash rather than bodies through turnstiles).

Maybe they’ll spend some of on daft things like facilities! They are quite a distance from gaining a bronze licence on lack of facilities alone.

Like others in the league they are not a football club but a football team- all their supporters sit in the Directors box. That being said they are a football team with more money than us.

All that glitters is not gold as the old saying goes. I tend to check Companies House when something seems too good to be true. Usually throws up some interesting facts and figures. Just saying!!!!!!

I've noticed that the EK v Stranraer game finished 2-2. That sets it up nicely for the return leg next Saturday at Stranraer....

It’s anybody’s tie, but the result of the day has to be Spartans. That’s almost a year since we played them and they have thrived while we have well….erm…..dived!

Just back from the game, spotted Sandy Clark there!
EK missed several good chances and Stair Park isn't an easy place to visit so Stranraer will fancy their chances.

Kudos to Stranraer - they were written off before a ball was kicked.
Today shows just how difficult it really is to get out of the Lowland League.
Some realism about our current situation should kick in now. Not a given that bottom of L2 is as poor as many expect. Evidence by us last season - a side that 99 times out of 100 would’ve survived.

I see that more teams now have Bronze licences, including Airdrie. There are 2 SPFL teams who still hold entry level ones and those teams are Kelty Hearts and unsurprisingly Edinburgh City. It seems these teams shall be reviewed again in June at which point they shall presumably be in big trouble if they are still delinquent in meeting the necessary requirements. Interestingly Brechin City still show as holding an entry level licence. One team in the Highland League has been awarded a bronze licence and they're Banks O' Dee. Full SFA list here!
