Desperately disappointing. We were lucky only to lose 2-1. Airdrie vastly superior all day. Oh well...

That was utterly diabolical. The kind of Saturday afternoon that makes you wish you'd went to Tesco shopping instead. Nothing, empty, no fight, no spirit, no desire. Simply uninterested. Unacceptable. Up against one if the worst airdrie sides I've ever seen......they were there for the taking but we just didn't show up. Never got going, couldn't string a simple pass together..........i can take a defeat no bother but it's the manner if it which sticks in my throat.

Very disappointing performance against a poor Airdrie team compared to what they used to send out as an opposition. This was an ideal opportunity to stake our claim as being the major Monklands team this year - but we blew it big style. The defence leaks like a rusty boiler and you can feel the tension every time a ball goes into the danger area. Some sobering reflection needs to be measured and a defence coach needs to be hired - there rests the case for the prosecution. On to Forfar and some bridie time !! - not Scott McBride !

Our Assistant Manager is Stuart Malcolm ex- Arbroath and Raith centre half. The words "Ross Perry " and "football " don't go into the same sentence. In saying that thought Holmes was the closest player to getting pass marks. A deserved 3 points for the Diamonds.

That was a pathetic 'performance'. I am astounded someone as poor as Perry can bluff their way as a player. Have the players been introduced?

Jings it's a sad day when I'm the one on here with a positive message! Wasn't sure I was on the right forum there for a minute.
I thought we did okay today apart from defensively of course. Perry is a bombscare (although I suspect Shakey will be along any time soon to tell me he played well against QP last week, so that's okay then FFS)! Jase isn't fit and went off to prevent further injury. Reidy and Scotty are solid enough. Bowman is really decent. Having said that, the goals we lost were terrible. And Perry was front and centre for both of them. Although Jase wasn't blameless either.
Outside of that well, Victoria's goal was a cracker. Superb work in midfield from Trouts who is already my player of the season. The run and finish from Victoria was great. His later chances though just show what you get with him. One great finish evened up by probably a few games where he can't hit the target.
Fish was great in everything he did except his final pass today which was woeful. Holmer has great vision, can make a great pass but he clearly isn't match fit either. Trouts worked hard and his assist was quality. Connor puts himself about and never stopped working.
I think our shape today suited Airdrie and they deserved to win. No complaints about the result. They took their goals well and more or less contained us.
What pleases me most is the contrast between this season and last. Today we played with either 2 or 3 up top for most of the game. And we had support in numbers. We create chances, we play some nice stuff and we'll get the breaks in some games. Our open play is good and although we over-elaborate sometimes in defence and get caught out occasionally, you can see a shape and a pattern to our play. We get men forward in numbers and carry a threat the whole game. Compare that to last season with the constant backwards passes, Also, remember our default position of putting Mick up top late in the match. It's like night and day compared to that really.
Final whinge before I finish - we left it too late to make the changes. It was obvious we needed to change things up and it should have been done earlier.
Say what you like about Airdrie but they're full time and I thought we ran them fairly close today.
Sort out the defence and we'll win more games than we'll lose I suspect.

Willie Aitchison who was in charge of Airdrie isn't anymore! Sacked after about a fortnight in charge it seems - has Donald Trump taken over there?

I must have been watching a different game- Fish was absolutely diabolical today. As for too late making changes. The 11 men on the park is as good as it gets- we don't have anyone to come off the bench except raw young laddies. That's not a dig at the manager. Brian has probably spent the vast majority of the playing budget on 5-6 players with the rest made up from the u20's. A gamble that may or may not come off.

Agree with all the comments made already. Not much more to say but I think the guy who played left back during week and was MOTM was undeservedly dropped today as he is a far better player than the guy who played there today. He is far better making runs down the left hand side and getting crosses into the box than the other guy who played their today. Also Perry is a liability. Daniel lightbody who came on for Marr when he got injured is a far better option than Perry. We were dire today.

[br ] D7......normally agree with most of your feedback and comments but even an eternal optimist would have struggled to find a positive in that performance today. That's about as dire as I've seen in recent years, and their has been a few 'off days', but that topped the lot for me today. However.....agree with your point on fish......for me he was the only one looking remotely interested. The 4.3 game was a kick in the chops last year but at least the boys showed a bit of fight. You could have went into gala bingos afternoon session, picked 11 old dears, shoved the yellow and red on them, put them on the pitch and they'd have offered more.
