Should know the set up like the back of his hand - best wishes and let us all get right behind him from the start of this difficult transition.

Fantastic news ! Great appointment and although I was a bit too young to see John play I know he was a cracking goal scorer.
Wealth of experience in the game. Welcome home boss.

As Grant said never saw that one coming. For us of an older age John will always be remembered as one of Rovers best players. Scored a couple of belters against Airdrie in the old league cup in the 70s However that was a few years ago and he has a job in front of him now that might make him a legend in the eyes of the younger dudes. Good Luck Brogie..... your going to need it

Delighted!
Experienced pro. Hopefully uses his contacts in the juniors.
A slight inaccuracy in the press release, I think? His first senior club as manager? Aren’t Stirling Albion senior?

Oddly I don't remember him playing for Rovers, Ray Franchetti, Davie Main and Shug Hill were maybe all my adolescent brain could cope with back then!

Will be interesting to see who the assistant is. Tom O'Neill was his assistant at Stirling - a brilliant coach was briefly at Rovers under Vinnie Moore before taking up a role with Celtic. Brogan has also worked with Martin Clark in the past.
