Great to Stenny's community work going well. Oh we can dream.
In terms of 4G pitches I'm all for including some posters during this season however, not to rip up the Cliftonhill grass. Solely for a training pitch and to rent out.
In terms of similar facilities in the brigg , yes there are but given the opportunity to train at a facility run by a Professional Club that is a big pull.
I wouldn't put it behind the goals, I've other plans for that 😉

I remember - back in John Devlin`s time as Chairman - there was test borings undertaken on the club`s behalf by NLC (incidentally the costs for this are shown as a liability on the accounts only to be repaid in the event of Cliftonhill being sold). It was John`s idea to build single story dressing room accomodation blocks behind each goal thus freeing up the current space in the stand for other (social ?)purposes. John kindly sent me artists impressions of what these would look like but I can`t find these pictures now.

Totally agree Chris,
I play regularly on Stennys pitch, I’ve also played at Broadwood, Airdrie, Hamilton and Livi.
They are just pitches and don’t feel ‘special’ in any way at all.

I disagree. I see a market of 50,000. You want to bring your kids along with JDs kids and your happy. Again, says it all.

Playing across a 3rd of Albion Rovers Park in a 7aside game wouldn’t be special to me. If the club starts an over 35’s team however 👍🏼

You mean yes Martin of course I would. I know you're choking on your words. I would be spending my money at the Rovers as choice. I'm certain plenty others would as well rather than turning up to *ahem, choke choke* Airdrie.
It would be great.
As for the Over 35s. Hopefully someone has a community idea at the BoD.
Knew you would come round 😉

Sorry but I dont and I am part of the market there are other parks which would be cheaper than rovers with better facilities Who would you be aiming as your target audience

Nope. I dont want rid of the grass either hence my post. However putting in a 4g pitch to generate income and reduce spend (on St Ambrose) is the way forward. No-one is stating this is cheap or easy but can be done if the appropriate channels are used.

No-one is stating this is cheap or easy but can be done if the appropriate channels are used. Not the only way forward, you could put 7 aside parks on the wasteland/car park behind the goals. This will generate income and reduce the spend at St Ambrose but without the horrid astro for Saturday’s matches.
