Amid the many posts on the thread regarding the open meeting, there were a few suggesting fan ownership as a way forward for the club. It was great to see a number of our young supporters so keen on this. At the end of the open meeting I spoke to a few people , who like me are fans and small shareholders. The general feeling was one of hopelessness at having on the one hand a board with no credible financial plan and on the other a consortium that at best has a questionable proposal behind their hostile takeover bid. But there has to be ‘another show in town’ to give us some hope that the Rovers have a future. We have a choice between being silent bystanders as events unfold or be active participants in looking for an alternative. I have long been an advocate of having a fan owned club. How do we achieve it? I don’t know. But I would like to have a go in trying to put a proposal together with like minded people. We can watch our club disappear in a year or two - or try to do something along a fan ownership model. If anyone would like to take part in this project let me know and I’ll arrange a meeting in the next few weeks.

One of the things I’ve always wanted to do is own shares but I would really back a contribution a monthly sum each month to the club. Might be one for the supporters trust or have someone of your and Isabel calibre helping to get it of the ground. Sure the majority of fans would back this over any other idea. We’re the best people to be in control over the club future. May take a few people with expertise to come up with a plan how to implement it and get the shareholders backing . Might be good to get in touch with people from the well society sure Stirling Albion are fan owned
