Jamie McKenzie who applied previously has just been handed the Gartcairn job, they were promoted a few weeks ago. I saw that earlier Tee. I think Jamie was managing Forth Wanderers up until a couple of years ago but had to chuck it after landing a promoted post with Morrisons supermarket. Good luck to him

I'd certainly prefer not having Chapman back, Houston would be a good choice IMO but can't see it happening somehow. I don't think I could cope with Chapman's irritating quotations of chinese proverbs in the programme notes if I'm being honest.

Loved Chapman the player but not as a manager. Used to irk me beyond words when he always trudged snail pace over to the dug outs for the start of the 2nd and the ref had to wait for him to get off the pitch to restart the game.
Hopefully we get a conclusion on the appointment asap. The prospect of the possibility of dropping out of the league adds even more importance to getting the right man for the job.

Aye, no more of just `going through the motions` not being that bothered about being bottom of the league

As long as we don't get that Jordie back as manager or assistant or indeed physio. He had very, very brief experience as all 3. Noticed he's just signed up for the message board so thought I'd give him a name check.

I agree chappie was a great player for our club. Would i be dead against him having a second stint as manager?? Absoloutley not. I dont think we will be inundated with a cast of thousands who want the gig. Need to go for experience and he fits the bill.......in my opinion......understand hes perhaps not everyones cup of tea. Essential the BOD get this appointment correct. Shouts of your jim duffys and Peter houstons are pie in the sky as far as im concerned.

Did Chapman not leave Clyde under......wait for it ....acrimonious circumstances- one of his coaches had a set to with some Clyde fans.
Meet the manager events were quite something with him. Anyone remember the one where he came storming in demanding to know who Speedybiker was on the messageboard posting negative comments about the team, banging the table demanding the fans support the team then ended with the accusation that the SFA were out to get him. Bizarre, quite bizarre.

Bizarre, quite bizarre. I pretty sure our current Chairman Ronnie would have attended some of Chappie`s bizarre meetings. SFA out to get him.....??......wasn`t that one of Brian Kerr`s excuses regarding refs...?

It's been a while but, somewhat reluctantly, I have surrendered to the irrepressible need to air my views on the situation at the Club as it stands. There are a few undeniable facts that, I feel, may seem a little bit like stating the obvious, but are worthwhile repeating nonetheless:
- We've been relegated
- The playing budget will be cut
- Crowds will nosedive
Three very simple (yet crucially important) truths about what lies ahead. I'm far from a prophet of doom, but realism is just part of my make-up as a 'Vers fan. I really do fear for the future of ARFC if our return to League Two doesn't go to plan. At the moment, without a manager at the helm (and a few unsavoury names being mentioned as BK's replacement) it is very possible that we could finish in the bottom half of the division. Our best player (Messr. Trouten) has departed for pastures new and has left behind but a handful of players who would be fit to lace his boots - it goes without saying that this doesn't apply to those who give 100% every single time they pull on the yella' and red!
Allowing the Daily Record access to the our dressing room during such a turbulent period was tantamount to motivational vandalism. Any faith that I had left in BK vanished into thin air when the footage emerged. The buck stops with the manager and he would've had the final say in allowing the tabloid to become involved in any way with the Club.
I was dismayed to see the vacant Manager's job being advertised on Twitter. Anyone worth their salt in the game will know that the post is there to be filled. It seems like a particularly amateurish way to catch anyone's eye and, unfortunately, resulted in us being mocked on a very public platform.
I will hold my hands up at this point and say that my attendance this season past has been somewhat patchy.
Jordan.

Reading the posts on here one thing is obvious we are all very concerned about the season ahead , we really need a manager with experience in the lower leagues possibly junior football and have the ability to operate on a very small budget . Will any of last seasons players hang around ? Will a new manager want to keep any of them ? One thing is clear we need to get a manager in place very very soon as the new season promises to be a lot more trying than the previous one , if the manager has to build and get a brand new team to gel ,then it will be a big task ahead . The big concern now is the possibility of finishing in the lower reaches of the 2nd division and the dreaded drop from the league into obscurity and with the teams in the league having a head start with some squads already taking shape we really could be in a dog fight to keep our league place ,and with that in mind we will have to hope the manager can get the right type of player who would be up for that fight .

Agree with a lot of what Nick1970 and Jordan say. Very realistic prospect of Rovers being there or thereabouts towards the foot of the table next season.
Which is why this appointment has to be spot on. I do think there will be some good calibre managers interested in the job. We need to get them in asap and not be in our usual position of having 3 signed players by 1st July.
Oh and I can answer the one about Speedybiker .She was a part time photographer and full time Mrs Tee Kasule. Glad to have helped with that one.

If Ian Murray has applied I would stop the application process right now, offer him the job and send a polite "thank you" letter to all other applicants.
