This would be a positive move for the club and reaffirm our ambitions for the future years. Ian Murray has vast managerial experience and has played at the highest level in Scottish football and would attract the right type of player to excite the fans.

Obviously the available budget will be a significant constraint on the new manager - no matter who he is - all the more galling when the majority shareholder has stated at an AGM that he would block any attempts to raise capital via a revised share issue.

Mark Kerr was also mentioned in that article about possibly taking up the managerial post at the club

No managerial experience, surely we have learned something from last season.

Clubs at our end of the leagues and with our finances have to at least consider folk with no managerial experience.

I am sure, if Mark Kerr did indeed apply, he would be given some consideration

Is this the same Mark Kerr who was with Ayr Utd and has just agreed an extension to his Ayr contract for next season ?

Agree with the other posts regarding Ian Murray-has the experience, knowhow and contacts to make a decent fist of things.Would be my first choice, and would be a positive step for the season ahead.

I would like to throw two names in :Alan Reid and Gary Fisher as joint management team. Both lads know the club. Know the players available. And know they need to start somewhere in management.

Disagree, Peter, with the greatest of respect to Alan and Gary. This was tried years ago with Duncan Shields and Ray Franchetti and didn`t work. Had BK left before the end of the season then Alan & Gary seeing out the remaining games would have been a good option for the BOD, but not on a permanent basis.

Great interview with Reidy. Sums the man up when he states that he'd love to stay next season. Reckon it's a no-brainer for the new manager to make him his first signing - we all know what he brings to the team.

It's been a while but, somewhat reluctantly, I have surrendered to the irrepressible need to air my views on the situation at the Club as it stands. There are a few undeniable facts that, I feel, may seem a little bit like stating the obvious, but are worthwhile repeating nonetheless:
- We've been relegated
- The playing budget will be cut
- Crowds will nosedive
Three very simple (yet crucially important) truths about what lies ahead. I'm far from a prophet of doom, but realism is just part of my make-up as a 'Vers fan. I really do fear for the future of ARFC if our return to League Two doesn't go to plan. At the moment, without a manager at the helm (and a few unsavoury names being mentioned as BK's replacement) it is very possible that we could finish in the bottom half of the division. Our best player (Messr. Trouten) has departed for pastures new and has left behind but a handful of players who would be fit to lace his boots - it goes without saying that this doesn't apply to those who give 100% every single time they pull on the yella' and red!
Allowing the Daily Record access to the our dressing room during such a turbulent period was tantamount to motivational vandalism. Any faith that I had left in BK vanished into thin air when the footage emerged. The buck stops with the manager and he would've had the final say in allowing the tabloid to become involved in any way with the Club.
I was dismayed to see the vacant Manager's job being advertised on Twitter. Anyone worth their salt in the game will know that the post is there to be filled. It seems like a particularly amateurish way to catch anyone's eye and, unfortunately, resulted in us being mocked on a very public platform.
I will hold my hands up at this point and say that my attendance this season past has been somewhat patchy.
Jordan.
A quality post, full of passion, with realism as to our situation. Quite how Kerr could have been made an offer to stay in his post after that Daily Record programme was beyond me. The Club was just made a laughing stock on account of his antics. How much it contributed to our downfall that we shall never know. Anyway, welcome back, Jordan, please don`t stay away from posting so long next time.

Jim McInally offered his resignation to the BOD at Peterhead. Their BOD refused to accept it and have persuaded him to remain for another season
