Was Ian Murray not mentioned when Kerr left? he came in and saved Dumbarton when they looked down & out and his black book of contacts will be better than Brogan's
by the way is he just not bothering with the soundcloud interviews now because he has already run out of excuses!

The lower leagues in Scotland are a much tougher proposition for players in the junior level to jump up to than they were prior to the 1980s. You could get by then with a player who had a bit of a strong tackle and a nice touch to boot. Nowadays the game is so much more technical and players need to be quick in their reactions and physically faster to compete. All teams we face are now more competitive and are coached accordingly. No more 8-0s or 2-7s score lines as norm in the past. There is a need to balance youth with experience. Last week against Peterhead we faced a team who's players came from the likes of Ayr Utd/Falkirk/ QOS etc. If you scan the other teams you get something broadly similar. It will take ourselves a bit longer to build up our profile unless we can get a bit of experience in. We may have to rely on guys who are not attracted by money but more for the thrill of the game - not too many experienced guys out there who fit this profile.

Boycotting is not the answer. I'm in London and wishing I could be at all the matches, despite everything. Fans need to remain fans and keep supporting the club.

no one is talking about boycotting that's what I am saying, we have to give the club the same money we would, because we all know the club needs the money, but at the same time send a mass message to the manager
even if its just something like an early walk out something to tell him "time's up"

It might be interesting to read the manager's comments in Saturday's program. If he does mention that us fans should show more guts and not hide behind our comments in this forum as Jimbo42 posted then he really won't be doing himself any favours at all. This and coupled with another heavy defeat on Saturday, which I hope doesn't happen, could may well be John's last game (by resigning or being sacked). I can't see any alternative. i can exclusively reveal that in this week’s programme our manager goes out his way to praise the support Rovers received in Edinburgh on Tuesday night. John Brogan was my teenage Rovers hero back in the 70s, and has been actively involved in the game without a break ever since. He accepted the job on the terms (and much reduced budget) offered, and is doing his level best to build a team good and resilient enough to finish as far above the trapdoor as possible. Like the BoD, he is all too aware of the dangers inherent in finishing bottom this season. And before I’m accused of being a happy-clapper, rest assured that Rovers current predicament has cost me more than one sleepless night: but boycotting matches and deriding our manager, players and BoD at every opportunity is not the answer. I have seen a good few poor Rovers teams over the years - the sides managed by Mick Oliver and Jimmy Crease spring immediately to mind - but I genuinely believe this one has the potential to defy its critics. If I didn’t, I’d throw in the towel right now. I fully acknowledge that points are required, and quick. And if that doesn’t happen very soon, the demand (and perhaps need) for change will become overwhelming. In the meantime, let’s get behind our manager and his young team. They need our support now more than ever. Bill W.

Why A sudden change of heart to praise the fans after the comments in the advertiser today? Sounds to me that there’s been a realisation that it’s a complete f*ck up to go to the media and have a pop at the fans. Now it’s an attempt to claw it back as the reaction from the fans wasn’t what either the manager himself or the club was expecting. It’s done, just get concentrating on getting results.

Paul, I haven’t read the Advertiser interview. But sounds like JB was having a pop at anonymous online critics, rather than fans who support the team home and away.

bill - like everyone else on here you are entitled to your opinion and like everyone else on here I hope you're right about the team.
But I'm with Paul. This is so transparent it's ridiculous. Have a pop at the fans to deflect the real message that the team is struggling big time and really doesn't look the part. Then realise your mistake or have it pointed out to you and try to limit the damage. As for the difference between "anonymous online critics" and "home and away fans" I reckon for the most part they are one and the same group and can't be separated out.
We all know John hasn't deliberately put together a team that can't compete. It's the massive misjudgement that youths who weren't ready at Alloa and juniors from the less than stellar reaches of the junior game would be good enough that gets me.

Home/away fans, cryptic fans... who really gives a f*ck what type of fan they are? They are giving their opinion and are entitled to do so. Why is the manager even caring about online forums?! As I have already said, just concentrate on his job to get that squad winning games.

Brilliant debate boys and girls. However can I clarify a few very important points. ARFC did have an overdraft of circa. £200,000 a few years ago. We are now in the black. Something very few clubs can claim to. Secondly, Tuesday night was a vast improvement. If this level of progress continues as the team gel together, and get to know each other, this should bode well for the future. I remember the 6 nil at halftime v Calley Thistle in the 90s. I for one will be supporting the team on Saturday and every other Saturday. Let's get behind the young team. Come on Albion.

Very Poetic and Churchillian comments predicting the end is nigh. Now I am as scared as the trap door as anyone else but it is a football pyramid. And Lets be realistic, if it had have been here a decade or so before we may have suffered that fate a lot earlier. If worse comes to worse and we go down, why should our club die and East Stirling with a smaller fan base survive?
But thats me going down the fatalistic route myself. Iv seen two games this year and it has been brutal. Woeful. Let me assure all you afficianados one thing, i have witnessed pish poor football under all the managers. All of them. Its not the San Siro. These boys at the moment are lacking so much but if they were to read these comments? Hardly supporting. They will be here REGARDLESS of manager unless one of you are hoping to punt your mortgage into the club. Regardless of how bad they have been I count three games(1 cup/2league, I am writing of the league cup as it was a tough tough group) they deserve more. No team has been relegatef after 8 games. But calls for a manager sacking after two games is crazy. Even after the bad performances.
Noticed Jaydee has come in for unfair critiscm. They seem to forget he is a physio on prob next to no recompensation for his time. A few comments said before hinted that back room staff shouldnt have there say due to a lack of professionalism. Well if he gives up his time and i would imagine as a rovers man has paid his gate money enough times over the years he is entitled to a view on here.
Im detecting a lot of told you so merchants on here who are Raging about current circumstances but in my opinion revel in the drama off the negativity and secretly enjoy it.
Relegation will not be decided upon games aginst peterhead but the cowdenbeaths and other clubs around us. Support the players who are new to th club and maybe it might help

Just for the record, the young guy who does the post-match interviews decided not to interview the manager after last Saturday's match. It wasn't JB's decision.

John was very happy to do an interview after the game, just unfortunate I was starting work so didn't have time to wait on him after the match.

In response to goodrover-ill "bite",and note his comments. We Rover's fans do not revel in the current situation the club finds itself in,and feed off the negativity. We are the lifeblood of the club who care enough to not let the club go under-and if having an opinion is an offence-then I'm guilty as charged. Without us folk who actually don't ask a lot-(the bad times far outweigh the good times at the Rover's)-but we are always still there. The forum is here as always to present a multitude of differing opinions-and who is to say who should and should not hold an opinion?.
