Great post d7, another loss but some positive noise, it's encouraging. A loss is a loss but only conceding 1 feels like we've stopped the bleeding a bit. But 1 goal in, what is that now, 7? One of my concerns with manager was lack of connections in senior game, good loan deals can make a huge difference, think Cadden, Lawless. Playing with juniors and a junior manager is not an easy sell to someone in a higher division looking to improve. But one way or other we desperately need to find a goal scorer from somewhere.

1 thing surprised me today was the amount of times we built from the back and managed to short pass it all the way down the park,,because according to Brian Kerr that was impossible on that pitch.
But on a more serious note,is there any chance we can have a whip round and send that old guy with the drum to lessons? or stick a rubber silencer on his drum?

Potts is a young cracking keeper and can only improve. Felt we deserved more from todays performance. Every player battled the full 90 but at the end of the day its still a defeat. But I must admit the team of ex lower league juniors didn't look out of place in a division 2 match. Big match next week. Let's get a win.

He's not good enough. Need a keeper in quick he nearly cost us majorly by running out 40 yards and missing the ball only to take out a defender Sorry Chris but give the guy a break. He's improved massively this season. He isn't perfect but tries very hard. Peter I accept he tries but he's not good enough. It's not his fault. Including the u20s games last season he wasn't in goals for a single win I really don't understand when a loss became acceptable

Nobody says a loss is acceptable but the last couple of games has been an improvement but I think the manager has produced a squad capable of staying in this league. Fair enough we've not had the best of starts but hold tight. Brilliant support from the fans at half time and full time.

The players really got stuck in from the start today and were winning a fair bit of the ball and were linking together well , with some good passing movements. The Achilles heel was up front when a bit more thought/composure was needed that could unlock the Elgin defence. We rode our luck with the penalty fiasco and the Laurel and Hardy moment when Elgin should have scored but the guy lacked the necessary composer to put it in the net , on another day who knows. We must feel hard done by not to get a point. When you are down nothing goes in your favour - there seemed to be an Elgin body all around the box when we ventured in ! The green shoots of recovery ( to use a political analogy ) may /hopefully be starting to sprout !

Keep the faith everyone: it sounds like we will get it right soon. Tough for team and fans so far, but it's oor team and oor ground, so don't give up.

It was a great tackle at the penalty fiasco, assistant ref done his job.

A huge improvement, massive effort more or less all round and some signs of better understanding between the players making for some promising build ups. Lack of firepower could still be the cause of our doom, but who in this department of the required standard is going to come where there isn't any money? Time, I think, to give the young 'keeper a break - he is improving and today made some decent saves and only one (albeit potentially disastrous) error of judgment. Not hugely optimistic yet but not as severely depressed as I was a week ago.

If he had built a squad capable of staying in league the form wouldn't read 0 wins 0 draws 8 lost 1 for 25 against

Great to hear all the realistic and positive comments on here today. I would love us to get revenge on QP next week for the last of last season hurt they caused us with automatic relegation. How they managed to beat Arbroath that day I'll never know. Let's silence the Pims drinking yuppies next week. Looking forward to seeing wee Freddie again. Let's get a few hundred fans at Hampden to see our first win next Saturday.

The team looked exactly what they are - well out of their depth.
