Oh well. So that's what the Lowland league will be like. One season then....where does the freefall end? Is there straight relegation?

Remain calm. Uni deserved to win; Rovers didn't play well. We lost 1-0 to a decent team. Disappointing, but life goes on. Next!

P.S. I see that OG Broomhill v Alloa in their cup game tonight at Broadwood had a crowd of 1403 which is pretty impressive. Incidentally Alloa won 2-1 with an injury time penalty before the game went to extra-time. How do Broomhill attract crowds like that. I think they got something like that a few weeks ago. Ronnie

Best team won by miles. We were as bad as we were in that forfar game. Only the keeper can hold his head up for keeping the score at 1-0. Shameful performance. And find someone else to take the penalties. . ....and corners!

Just watched the highlights again - and the link up play for Stirling's goal has to be admired - but we seemed to be chasing shadows for most of the game - the keeper went the wrong way at the penalty, but the ball sadly went into orbit- like Montrose/Edinburgh players after yesterday our guys need to refocus and come out at Forfar with a point or 3 points to prove!

Don't mind being beaten by the better team but what I find difficult is that I felt our effort was severely lacking.

Can't agree with K70 re lack of effort. I thought we saw a lot of effort but huge lack of quality in skill and tactics. High balls to Roberts and Wilson were never going to work.

The effort of the team cannot be faulted. We just didn't play well, and the uni deserved to win. Simple as that. Onwards to Forfar: a massive match for us.

You can't brush off a defeat in the SC as an onwards and upwards quip. The draw for the next round could see us financially viable for the next two seasons. It's potentially more important than any other game

Any word on Liam Fagan? Looked liked a bad knee injury. Re the game - Stirling Uni had done their homework. Charlie was marked to extinction. Surely a simple change of tactics eg moving him to the right would have been worth trying. Midfield was woeful. Thought Paton would be an advantage but he looked slow and unfit. Credit to the Uni boys, they played really well and deserved their win. Look forward to their play offs wit in the mix.

That was a sore one but, in all honesty, Stirling should have been 3 up after 20 minutes. We can't simply move on to the next game here without reflecting on what happened on Saturday.
We were second best in every single department other than goalkeeping and the chance of a decent cup draw has evaporated.
If we had scored that penalty, it may have been the only time in my life where I actually felt sorry for the opposition.
One thing for sure is if we do drop into that Lowland League we will not be coming back out again. I would expect our outcome to be similar to East Stirlingshire.
Best thing we can do is fight all the way to stay in League 2
