Depending on the outcome of the hearing, either Us or Spartans will have a home tie against Linfield FC of Northern Ireland

I was saying to Roy on Saturday that this would be the worst possible draw. Can't believe it has happened, and I hope it doesn't in the end. It would be a perfect opportunity for all the local bigots to wage a proxy war - and neither Old Firm team is playing on that day as it is an international break weekend.

To wish Rovers to be booted out of a cup competition on the belief that bigots MIGHT cause bother is an absolute disgrace of a comment. Albion Rovers only have around 400 to 500 fans (at a push),,,the club know who the fans are and if home tickets are sold properly and not at random to anyone and their dog from tommy tangos then there would be an issue inside the ground. There may be some trouble away from the ground yeah but thats nothing to do with Albion Rovers. Some people at this club lack ambition and seem happy to just watch league games with crowds of around 300 with no singing, shouting or negative views. This tie could be a wee money spinner for a club that needs cash aswell as a great oportunity for our players to test themselves against tougher opposition If we are aloud to continue that is

There is also a good chance this tie may be picked for tv, which could also generate more money for the club

I can't see any chance of TV coming to Cliftonhill - even BBC Alba avoid us like the plague. I suspect the police may have a say on this, if we make it into the round that is.

A most interesting draw. (!!) When do we find out our fate? It will likely be a replay v Spartans as the same happened to Livingston I think.

Happened to Livi last season, they fielded a suspended player in the original tie v Crusaders, and the SPFL ordered their tie to be replayed, not sure how it works when fielding an unregistered player

Can see both points if view but unless it's moved to Sunday will miss it as returning from holiday. Kind of glad as I don't fancy it anyway as it will attract numpties as these games always do. Will be interesting to see if it's moved but probably not as don't see a big travelling away support. It will be local numpties that cause any problems anyway and on that note those that mentioned there may be trouble away from the ground should remember one thing. Some of us have to walk to and from the games and want to do so in safety.

I am reasonably new to this forum but without wanting to upset anyone thought I would stick my two pence worth in I can understand people thinking that this would be a money spinner for the club and people might lack ambition not wanting to bring this game to Coatbridge. However games like these and dare I say when the old firm come calling can actually keep supporters away from the ground, my self being a father that takes his sons to the games would defiantly give this game a miss. My sons love going to the games and listening to the good humoured banter from the crowd and I like the fact it’s a safe environment that my sons feel safe in, but to take them to a game which could be an excuse from some folk to vent vile and hatred which are nothing to do with football wouldn’t be for us, also factor in the extra costs that the club could incur with this fixture it might not actually be the money spinner we all hope for.

Correct this cup tie (depth what happens) has all the ingredients for carnage

Well summed up Lebron.......not one I would subject my son to either. This is of course assuming we get through. It's no often you head up to the San siro anticipating bother but I'm afraid I would do with this tie.

Dont know if this helps SFA Handbook 2016/17

Similarly where a club is found to have named within an Official Team Line a player who, in the same season, has already played (as one of the 11 first-named players or as a fielded substitute) for another club in the Competition, then such club will be ejected from the Competition. Neither the Board, nor the Judicial Panel nor the Secretary shall be entitled to waive or modify the application of this Rule in any circumstances; and c) in the event of disorderly conduct by a club in breach of Rule 28 or Article 28, such club may be ejected from the Competition.34.2 For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of this Rule 34 do not supersede or override the terms of any other Rule which addresses sanctions for infringement thereof. In the event that the Judicial Panel determines to impose a replay or suspension on or the ejection from the Competition on a club (save pursuant to Rule 34.1 (b)) which is found to have infringed these Rules, an appeal from the club against such determination must be dispatched in writing to the Scottish FA within 24 hours of the date of the club’s receipt of written notice of the Scottish FA’s determination. The terms of the Judicial Panel Protocol and Article 65 of the Articles of Association shall apply to such appeal mutatis mutandis.
