Bit in this week's advertiser about David Caldwell wanting to return to the board. Any links to this? Out the country and can’t see it online. Not meaning to be pedantic but in the interest of journalistic accuracy , is it possible to return to the board when you’ve never actually been on the board??

Maybe it was return to the club. Lose interest in reading the garbage in the advertiser very quickly. Already recycled! 🙄 No online versions anywhere. Jimbo, what did the article contain. Was it an interview or mention from fans view ?

No re-issue....private transaction. Why did you not take up Robert Watt`s offer to pass shares on to supporters.....provided of course the BOD matched on a one for one basis

Was it an interview or mention from fans view ? Interview. Main points: Wants elected to board at the AGM Claims shareholders want change at Boardroom level Believes he can make a difference from a football perspective Is seeking input from Financial experts should the club be relegated He has met with the current board to assist the transition Believes if something doesnt change now the current model will ensure the club will never return to professional football There is a plan and an organisational structure Basically verbatum. If ive missed anything from the piece please add.

He's got at least one point spot on. If/when Rovers are relegated they will never return to professional football. That's a 100% guarantee.

Maybe it was return to the club. Lose interest in reading the garbage in the advertiser very quickly. Already recycled! 🙄 No online versions anywhere. Jimbo, what did the article contain. Was it an interview or mention from fans view ? Details of the second coming from the Advertiser Caldwell bids for place on board at Rovers Former Albion Rovers director of football David Caldwell wants to re-join the board of the beleaguered club who lost at home again on Saturday to Clyde. Shareholder Caldwell, 58, says he has met chairman Eddie Hagerty about the prospect of being re-elected at the next month’s AGM. He left the position as director of football last season when Rovers were third in League One. However, having recently bought shares, Caldwell claims fellow shareholders want change in the boardroom. The former professional believes his presence would make a difference from a “footballing perspective”. He also wants to see input from financial experts who could help if the club is relegated to the Lowland League – a position from which Caldwell fears Rovers may “never return”. Speaking to the Advertiser, he said “I’m certain that, unless there’s someone with very deep pockets out there who sees Rovers as an attractive proposition, then the only way they’ll get out of this is with skill, knowledge and hard work. There’s no consortium or conspiracy here but I’ve had a meeting with the current board and want to look at a transition that can help put the club in a better place. I don’t want the whole board replaced but have ideas of what I could add from a football perspective. This is an organic thing that will happen at the AGM anyway. It’s just a business process. There’s a huge amount of people doing great work at the club and whose services are of great value and encouraged. But everything the shareholders are trying to achieve is for the club’s benefit.” He continued: “If someone doesn’t do something or think about putting things in place now, then Rovers will never return to the senior leagues because of the current model. There is a plan and organisational structure I’d like to see put in place and to survive the club needs to be forward thinking and creative, If it drops into the Lowland League then it’s totally uncharted waters.” Caldwell added: “ A football club is a business but needs an end product – what is on the pitch. The net result from this at the moment is that the club is bottom of League Two. The fans need confidence and need to know there is a plan.”
