Not a surprise, will be interesting to see if the rest of the clubs quietly agree or not?

Iād be surprised if BSC, EK and Bonnyrigg are ok with it but you never know. Talk of Brora being announced HL champions after 3 games is pushing it.

Farcical

Sure is farcical. Even the Scottish Cup is a joke this season, highland league teams banned from playing in their league but expected to play their games in this cup. Fair play to Brora and Formartine for going through to the next round.

A few East Stirlingshire fans are saying as much as they donāt like it they believe they need to agree with it to ensure the play offs go ahead, because they donāt want L2 āgetting away with itā 2 seasons on the trot.

Yes I think itās to counter another hissy fit from Kelty. The irony is these clubs argue that these things happen on the basis of sporting integrity and at the same time champions are elected after 13 and 3 gameās respectively- and of course the likes of Brechin and Albion Rovers have to ā get in the binā.

Fair play to Brora and Formartine for going through to the next round. The teams were given a choice in both their league and Scottish cup, Either test the squad or don't play The league chose not to test In order to play in the cup teams had to test every player and backroom staff member once to return to training along with everyone to provide 3 negative tests 1 week apart in order to play the cup game, think it works out between Ā£70-Ā£80 a test

Have to agree photomclean1. If itās not farcical is not a sliver away from it. Yesterday we reached the midway point of our league season on the 27 March!!! League 2 teams are being asked to play schedules which can include 5 games in 12 days. The bottom team in League 2 could lose their league status in a playoff against a team that has played 3 league games all season while the league team will have played 22, around 14 of them in a 6 week period. Will the SPFL compensate regarding yellow and red cards in favour of the League 2 side? Still canāt quite believe the League clubs voted for this. Would be really interested in seeing the rationale for this. Ronnie

Still don't understand the rationale behind 22 games, what does it achieve? 18 games whilst not perfect gives a home and away for every team and a balanced if reduced season. The cramming in of the extra games with the additional issues around lack of fitness and potential non availability of players due to work commitments for the abundance of midweek games seems ludicrous to me,smaller clubs with tight squads are likely to suffer the most.
The last thing Rovers need are more opportunities for Brechin to pick up points !
As for the promotion / playoffs from Highland and Lowland leagues, looking at it impartiality i can understand why they want at least the opportunity to put a team forward as missing out for two seasons does seem harsh.
How they come to a conclusion on who that is well that's for them to decide Rovers just need to finish above Brechin!!
