Is it entirely possible if we were at the opposite end of the table we would actually give no thought to what’s happening in the lower leagues?
If the worst happens and wee slipped out of the 3rd Div does anyone think it would make a difference to the state of the club at the moment. No one in the town, apart from all us eejits, actually gives a toss about the team and wouldn’t be bothered what league they are in.
Bit downbeat post I assume but I’m afraid we have been skirting with this problem for far to long, the ‘glory’ days are long gone as are the ones responsible for our current demise

Would still be saying what I'm saying about the play off farce regardless of where we were. Wrong is wrong. As for what league we will be in it may be none as I can't see us surviving the drop. Certainly don't think the ground will especially with a certain vulture circling. It may not just be the glory days that are gone but all of them. As for those who put us here it it unfortunately includes the current board who despite some excellent work have made another disastrous managerial appointment.

We all care for ARFC and we obviously don’t want the team to go down.
The powers at the league only care about themselves and will want an attractive league which is competitive and have clubs that can actually afford to run and sustain it.
If we are honest, at present does Albion Rovers provide any of that? Sadly, I don’t think we do and are propping up the bottom of the league for the past few seasons.
These teams have money to burn (regardless of how they have it, they are able to build strong squads and decent facilities).
So the leagues would rather have these ‘up and coming’ teams than the deadwood which is already in place. Sadly, I think that’s how leagues see us, Brechin, Cowdenbeath etc.
It’s not nice, it’s not nice putting this down in words but I think that’s the reality of it all.

Finance may be part of it but it doesn't help when a dud manager is pissing your playing budget away.

Sign decent managers and get rid of them when they have failed. What else can I say?

Sign decent managers and get rid of them when they have failed. What else can I say? I can’t argue with that Jimbo. But, managers can only sign players of a standard which the budget allows. Or, they can only sign players depending on their contacts in the game. Does the clubs budget allow to compete competitively with others in the league? It all comes back to finances and this is why I think others would rather see us out than drifting along propping up the league.

You also have to factor in the managers ability to spot a decent player. Lacking there I think. Our budget can't be much less than up to mid table especially with the wonga loan paid and plenty of decent willing sponsors. It's what you do with what you have. We have wasted most of ours all season.

Well that’s the people who appointed him then. It was a strange appointment given he hadn’t been about Scottish football for several years. Also, I’m sure our budget isnt as high as you might think...

We have wasted most of ours all season. There is no way our budget is much the same as half the league! 😂 We have the smallest playing budget in the league by quite a distance.

That tends to contradict comments from the board in the recent past where they've said ours is not the smallest. All I know is watching us is a nightmare and just waiting for the inevitable after all these years is another one. The truth is out there! Call Mulder!

I think the budget is clearly noticeable with regards to the players signed. We aren’t signing seasoned pro’s but are instead signing kids. Kids are cheap options, seasoned pro’s want a ‘wage’.

Aren't a considerable number of the recent signings "seasoned pros" who have failed to deliver? Wasn't Fotheringham exactly that and what we need in that nonexistent midfield?

We had Fotheringham,1 player out of a team of 11 won’t make much difference if the rest aren’t up to standard. By looks of it, Reid didn’t fancy him as a player which would be why he’s left. Are you thinking, Fotheringham in the team would have changed our fortunes?

Yes and he has proved it. The fact that you think Reid didn't rate him (if true) would just confirms my thoughts about his judgement. He's a dud manager and should already have gone. He was a blunder. Anyway, I've gave up on football. I'm away Tae watch the Scotland match! Glutton for punishment!
